Iran sentences Iranian-U.S. man to death for spying

Iran's Revolutionary Court sentenced an Iranian-U.S. man to death for spying for the CIA, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Monday.

"Amir Mirza Hekmati was sentenced to death ... for cooperating with the hostile country (the United States) and spying for the CIA," Fars said, without giving a source.

"The court found him Corrupt on Earth and Mohareb (waging war on God)."

Why can't either country address their real issue?

You got to be willing to do the time....or whatever the sentence in that country.

But enough with the sanctimonious "Corrupt on Earth" and "waging war on God", from a country that hires goons on motorbikes and guns to terrorize fraudulent election result protesters or stoning women to death based on an accusation of adultery.

There's no evidence he's part of the CIA. He served in the US military and was visiting his grandmother according to his family. They convicted him in a kangaroo court.

I think it's best to just completely cut ourselves off from Iran. But I see a lot of nutty rhetoric on the internet (as well as nuts like Santorum) claiming that we need to attack them. Hopefully this will stay at sanctions and not escalate beyond that...Another war would be incredibly stupid.
