WASHINGTONU.S. President Donald Trumps words are getting more dishonest over time, the Star has found in the first detailed statistical analysis of his inaccurate statements in office.
........................................
Trumps dishonesty has been a central story of his presidency, a daily problem that has confounded members of Congress and foreign leaders, confused policy debates and made it difficult for many members of the American public to trust the commander-in-chief.
Weve tried to quantify the issue. Since Trumps inauguration speech on Jan. 20, 2017, weve fact-checked every word Trump has spoken or tweeted since his inauguration speech on Jan. 20, 2017. Up until July 1, 2018, the end date for the analysis, we had counted 1,929 false claims.
Readers wanted more than just this raw number. They asked us, for example, to explain why the number of false claims per week has increased since early 2017. The key question: is Trump just talking more, or are his words denser with dishonesty than they used to be?
Thanks to never-before-released data, we can now offer an answer: its a bit of both, but theres no doubt hes getting worse per word spoken.

As I understand this---the more he talks, the more he lies.

(2,541 posts)My heart goes out to the people who had to sit and listen to what had to be hours and hours of trump speaking. I could not have done that. I would rather be locked in a phone booth with a rabid Raccoon. I cant even stand to hear the sound bites of him re-played on All In with Chris Hayes / TRMS / The Last Word Lawrence ODonnell.

(51,569 posts)Some one wrote earlier that March 12th was an exceptionally slow "lie" day for some reason (maybe under medication). But look at the last two bars on the graph...this is pretty telling. I wondered what happened on July 1st (he does so much "crazy shit" in such a short time I lose track). It turns out that on that date he was golfing in NJ ...
"President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are spending the weekend at their home on Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. While there are no public events scheduled, Trump said Friday that he is using the weekend to interview Supreme Court Justice candidates to replace the retiring Anthony Kennedy. The president expects to announce his choice on July 9."

I guess he had to lie more than usual since Kennedy and he planned his retirement and replacement already behind closed doors. Kennedy needs to be investigated for this, especially if his son is involved with tRump $$$ and Deutche Bank.

(48,966 posts)In addition to all the "work" he had to do on the SCotUS (though some suggest that Kavanaugh was picked long ago and was part of the Justice Kennedy deal).
1) Trump got wind of and was later informed that the 12 indictments of Russians was coming.
2) Cohen signaled he is going to flip.
3) Manafort got slapped down.
4) About a million Cohen documents got cleared for Mueller to examine.
5) Six Front Trade War hit Round 2.
6) North Korean fiasco crumbled.
7) Trump Child Abductions were exposed and got very intense.
