The White House said Wednesday that President Trump is open to Russia questioning U.S. citizens, including former U.S. ambassador to Russian Michael McFaul.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that Trump is gonna meet with his team and discuss the possibility of allowing Russia to question the U.S. citizens.
There was some conversation about it but there wasnt a commitment made on behalf of the United States, Sanders said. The president will work with his team and well let you know if theres an announcement on that front.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a press conference with Trump on Monday that the Kremlin would permit special counsel Robert Muellers team to travel to Russia and attend the questioning of 12 Russian intelligence officers indicted in the probe, if Russia was allowed to help interrogate some people who have something to do with illegal actions on the territory of Russia.

(5,730 posts)All Russia has to do is cast aspersions on anyone, and he or she will enjoy an all-expense-paid trip to Moscow (unless Trump makes their families reimburse the government for the trip).
Nice way to handle political opponents, no?

(123 posts)I keep waiting and hoping "this one" will be the one that gets his rubes to stop following him....so far absolutely nothing seems to break the spell, maybe this would.
In my mind nothing changes unless any 1 of these 3 things happen
1 - GOP elected wimps grow a pair
2 - Rube nation cracks apart
3 - Dems take back control.
Sadly only #3 seems possible at this point.

No. I am not serious, but this is pretty outrageous, especially after listening to years of Republicans complaining how Democrats put international law above US law (ridiculous). Plus, I believe ambassadors actually have some sort of reciprocal immunity in the country they serve?
