Leslie Moonves Accused of Sexual Misconduct in Ronan Farrow Expose

Source: Hollywood Reporter

The New Yorker is poised to publish an article by Ronan Farrow that includes allegations of sexual misconduct on the part of embattled CBS chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

A spokesperson for The New Yorker says, “We don't comment on pieces we haven't published." Sources with knowledge of the article say it delves into the broader culture at CBS and will publish later today on the magazine’s website.

CBS said in a statement that it is investigating the claims made against Moonves. “All allegations of personal misconduct are to be taken seriously," the network stated. "The Independent Directors of CBS have committed to investigating claims that violate the Company’s clear policies in that regard. Upon the conclusion of that investigation, which involves recently reported allegations that go back several decades, the Board will promptly review the findings and take appropriate action.”

CBS added: “The timing of this report comes in the midst of the Company’s very public legal dispute. While that litigation process continues, the CBS management team has the full support of the independent board members. Along with that team, we will continue to focus on creating value for our shareowners.”

who famously claimed, refering to tRump, "But he is GREAT for ratings" He is married to the woman who is the hostess of the idiotic "The Talk" and "Big Brother" SHE will be looking for work once he goes down. I highly doubt either of her shows are "Great for ratings" Pays to sleep with the boss, for a while.

Les Moonves, CBS C.E.O., Faces Inquiry Over Misconduct Allegations

By Edmund Lee

July 27, 2018

The CBS board of directors said on Friday that it would investigate allegations of misconduct against the company’s chief executive, Leslie Moonves, the subject of a forthcoming article in The New Yorker focused on claims about his behavior toward women.

The statement, which did not specifically identify Mr. Moonves, was released after The Hollywood Reporter posted an article online saying that The New Yorker was poised to publish an article that detailed allegations of sexual misconduct against him. CBS shares fell by more than 6 percent after the report.

The directors’ statement said that “all allegations of personal misconduct are to be taken seriously,” and that the group would investigate any claims that violated the company’s policies. “Upon the conclusion of that investigation, which involves recently reported allegations that go back several decades, the board will promptly review the findings and take appropriate action,” the statement said.

Mr. Moonves, a former actor who rose through the ranks to lead CBS, is separately embroiled in a legal dispute with Shari Redstone, who controls the company. Mr. Moonves and the CBS board have sued Ms. Redstone to prevent her from trying to merge the network with Viacom, which she also controls. The lawsuit will play out in court this October.

And a disturbing one.

Clearly this sort of behavior has gone on for years and years with little to no accountability.

Glad that finally seems to be changing.

it's almost too easy to go after Hollywood-type people. What about every other industry? The people they are finding are just the tip of the iceberg.

Sexual harrasment goes on everywhere. Including Congress. I wish Ronan Farrow would cover other industries.

And the reporter who broke the story, also broke the story on Harvey Weinstein. It's an awful story about someone abusing his position for many years..If you hit the link in the Original Post..you will read more about this predator. IF you goggle Leslie Moonves you will read a lot about his background. CBS is investigating all of this. But as the original story indicates there are several women who accuse Moonves of illegal touching and kissing.

"The allegations are said in part to involve instances of unwanted kissing and touching that occurred more than 20 years ago, as well as numerous claims that occurred more recently."
