Sarah Sanders: 'I Can't Guarantee' There's No Tape of Trump Using N-Word

Sanders was bombarded with questions today regarding Omarosa Manigault-Newman‘s secret recordings and the salacious claims from her new book. At one point, Sanders was asked about Manigault-Newman’s revival of the old rumor that Trump was caught on tape using racial slurs when filming The Apprentice.

Sanders said she never heard Trump used racial slurs, and she cited his recent tweets insisting that no such Apprentice tape exists. Eventually, NBC’s Kristen Welker asked Sanders: “can you stand at the podium and guarantee the American people that Donald Trump will never utter and N word on a recording in any context?”

“I can’t guarantee anything,” Sanders said. “I can tell you the president addressed this question directly.” From there, Sanders launched into a diatribe about how great Trump has been for the African-American community.

When Welker followed up to ask Sanders to confirm that she could not guarantee there wasn’t a tape of Trump using the N-word, Sanders replied, “I haven’t been in every single room. I can tell you the president has addressed this directly.”

outside of potentially being useful to stimulate Democratic voters for 2020, i don't see how this would have much impact. Trump has a storied history of outrageous racism going back decades, anyone who can support him through that can support him through any new allegations as well.
