New Dem ad uses Paterno, KKK, affair allegations to tar GOP leaders

Source: The Hill

BY SCOTT WONG AND MIKE LILLIS - 08/17/18 04:31 PM EDT

Escalating its anti-corruption message, a top Democratic super PAC on Friday launched a blistering web ad designed to portray House Republicans as irredeemably unethical ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.

The 30-second ad, sponsored by the House Majority PAC, which has close ties to Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), highlights a series of scandals — some of them decades old — surrounding a handful of prominent Republicans hoping to replace retiring Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). The spot is certain to be controversial since some of the allegations remain unproven or under investigation.

At one point, the narrator invokes allegations that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who’s running for Speaker, failed to protect student athletes from a sexual predator when he was an Ohio State wrestling coach decades ago — a charge Jordan vehemently denies.

“Remind you of Joe Paterno?” the narrator says, referencing the legendary football coach who was accused of covering up a child sex abuse scandal at Penn State University.

Our guys have bent themselves into pretzels more than enough for the Repugnants and they need to have a stiffer spine and come at them hard and fast if we ever want to win back our country from them.

The Reperves have already demonstrated that they don't care about the morality of their leaders as long as they beat up on people of color, immigrants, teh gays, and women who want to control their reproduction.

They're happy to elect profoundly immoral men to regulate other people's morality.
