Escalating public feud with Sessions, Trump pushes AG to investigate Democrats
Source: NBC News
President Donald Trump slapped back at Jeff Sessions early Friday — the latest attack in an ongoing exchange of barbs between the two men — daring his attorney general to investigate Democrats and intelligence officials. In a pair of tweets, Trump quoted a line Sessions himself used a day earlier in responding to an earlier criticism from his boss, before demanding the nation's top law enforcement official “look into all of the corruption on the ‘other side.'” “Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations," Sessions said in a statement Thursday, in an unusual push back to Trump. Trump, quoting that sentence, goes on to tweet, "Jeff, this is GREAT, what everyone wants, so look into all of the corruption on the ‘other side’ including deleted Emails, Comey lies & leaks, Mueller conflicts, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr..........FISA abuse, Christopher Steele & his phony and corrupt Dossier, the Clinton Foundation, illegal surveillance of Trump Campaign, Russian collusion by Dems - and so much more.” Read more: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/escalating-public-spat-sessions-trump-pushes-ag-investigate-democrats-n903471?cid=sm_npd_ms_tw_ma Link to tweet Link to tweet

1. That effin' asshole just does not know when to quit.
I guess he figures that all he has to do is shout fake news and distract, then all the wrongdoings he and his crime family are doing will all go away.
Annulment of his "presidency" is sounding better and better. |

11. I wish that could happen
There is nothing in our Constitution that allows for annulment of trump's presidency. The 25th Amendment or Impeachment (House) (then the Senate votes to try trump or not) is the only way to get rid of trump, but then we would have pence. As long as the repubs are in charge, they will do nothing.

28. You might be right, but
here is Robert Reich's proposal:
ANNULMENT OF THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY Suppose Robert Mueller comes up with overwhelming evidence that Trump colluded with Russia to become President, and that, were it not for Russia’s actions during the election, Trump would not have been elected. In other words, Trump’s presidency is not authorized under the United States Constitution. Impeachment in the House and conviction in the Senate would remove Trump from office. This would remedy Trump’s “high crimes and misdemeanors.” But impeachment would not remedy Trump’s unconstitutional presidency because it would leave in place his vice president, White House staff and Cabinet, as well as all the executive orders he issued and all the legislation he signed, and the official record of his presidency. The only way to respond to an unconstitutional presidency is to annul it. Annulment would repeal all of an unconstitutional president’s appointments and executive actions, and would eliminate the official record of the presidency. Annulment would recognize that all such appointments, actions, and records were made without constitutional authority. The Constitution does not specifically provide for annulment of an unconstitutional presidency. But read as a whole, the Constitution leads to the logical conclusion that annulment is the appropriate remedy for one. After all, the Supreme Court can declare legislation that doesn’t comport with the Constitution null and void. It would logically follow that the Court could declare all the legislation and executive actions of a presidency unauthorized by the Constitution to be null and void. The Constitution also gives Congress and the states the power to amend the Constitution, thereby annulling or altering whatever provisions came before. Here, too, it would logically follow that Congress and the states could, through amendment, annul the actions of a presidency they determine to be unconstitutional. I am not suggesting that constitutional annulment of the Trump presidency is likely. I am only arguing that, in the face of overwhelming evidence that his presidency was never authorized under the Constitution, there are ample grounds for arguing it should and can be annulled. |

2. House intelligence committee is opening hearings into Clinton email investigation in September
According to Rep. Eric Swalwell yesterday, the agenda of the committee when they come back from recess under Reps will be Clinton's emails. On the Russia probe front, they have also requested Bruce and Nellie Ohr to testify about their connections to Steele Dossier, so we can expect just more of the same distractions to prop up the base before election.

Call THIS an actual witch hunt - ANOTHER investigation into something that has been investigated ad nauseum all in order to deflect and detract from the fact that donnie's campaign manager, personal lawyer, pick for national security adviser (and all the rest) are now CONVICTED FELONS.

15. Interesting, and scary...
" the narcissist could burn down all the houses around theirs in order to take revenge on everyone and everything else. What it all comes down to is that regardless of the reason for the narcissistic collapse, the narcissist blames everything and everyone EXCEPT him/her self. They must believe, ultimately, that they are a victim and that nothing is his/her fault."

18. All of those charges he makes against Democrats and Hillary have either been proven wrong
..or dismissed as not meeting any level of criminality. Hillary herself has admitted to her mistake with the email server and apologized. It was also proven that there was no security breach because of it. Personally, I think she had a separate email account in order to talk with friends family and acquaintances, or even to ask for opinions on policy to close political friends, so that she could speak freely and not be worried that any personal information, or some out-of-context snippet could be used on Fox News against her, and also affect the friend/family member in the process. It was understandable considering the relentless onslaught against her by the right. All good intentions, but it was risky in that she should have known the GOP would use ANYTHING they could against her.
But again, she was given permission to delete those 30,000 non-government related emails. The Republican appointed to head the FBI, did not see enough evidence to proceed with charges on any aspect of her email usage. And The Clinton Foundation? You really want to go there Donny? Because the Clintons released their tax forms, it was proven that 90% or something like that actually goes to the children and families in the third world countries they are trying to help. While Donnie's is being investigated for fraud. And Russian collusion? Seriously? Intelligence agencies see it the opposite way. But you know more right? Gee, that sure worked out well for her didn't it? I'm sure that secret meeting with Putin was to scold him so that he won't unfairly help the Democrats next time, because last time she almost won. Everything else is fake charges with no substance at all. I know this is preaching to the choir, but it is just astounding how much BS this guy spews. |

19. Republicans must be the worst detectives ever. They've investigated Hillary for almost 30 years
over and over, so many Congressional hearings, spending millions of taxpayers money, and they still haven't convicted her of one damn thing. She must be the new Moriarty.
Meanwhile, Trump is on course to go down as one of the dumbest criminals ever, right up there with the bank robber who wrote his robbery note on the back of an envelope with his name and address on the front. |
