JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sources say at least eleven people have been shot and four are dead after a shooting at the Jacksonville Landing Sunday afternoon.

Police urge everyone to stay away from the area because it is not safe.

Early reports say three were shot inside Chicago Pizza and others may have been wounded in the gunfire.

Witnesses tell News4Jax that several ambulances, firefighters and police officers are on the scene and roads are being blocked off downtown near the Jacksonville Landing.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida authorities are reporting multiple people dead and “many transported” to hospitals after a mass shooting at a riverfront mall in Jacksonville that was hosting a video game tournament.

The Jacksonville Sherriff’s Office is reporting that one suspect is dead at the scene after the shooting at Jacksonville Landing, but it was unknown if there were other suspects involved.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office used Twitter and Facebook to warn people to stay far away from the Jacksonville Landing.

The department says to “stay far away from the area. The area is not safe at this time. STAY AWAY.”

“We are finding many people hiding in locked areas at The Landing. We ask you to stay calm, stay where you are hiding. SWAT is doing a methodical search inside The Landing. We will get to you. Please don’t come running out,” the sheriff’s office said via Twitter.

The sheriff’s office didn’t provide any other information, but also warned news media to stay away from the area, which contains restaurants and shops along the St. Johns River.

People get pissed and lose their temper all the time. However, if you have guns easily accessible, what should just be a shouting match with some pushing and shoving quickly escalates to murder.

Neither. Generally when violence is sublimated by sports or games, it is lessened.

Problem is anger management and wide availability of more weaponry than is reasonable. Including tRump relaxing availability of guns to people with mental illness.

The sublimation argument has been used a lot for a long time. Even with actual football, before online. And well substantiated to be accepted. Too Freudian for some psychologists though.

Are you saying sublimation only lessens violence when the game is physically played? Played a lot of video games and know enough gamers to know that's not the case. But odd crazies are everywhere these days. Even in schools and churches.

Word of another tragic mass shooting in our state brings shock and outrage. Right now, law enforcement are doing their jobs under horrific circumstances and it’s important that people in the Jacksonville area heed their warnings.
