OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (AP) — An ex-Marine who had suffered from depression and once tweeted about killing "everyone I see" opened fire in camouflage gear at a supermarket early Friday, gunning down two co-workers before he killed himself, authorities said.

Terence Tyler, 23, left his night clerk shift at a Pathmark store in Old Bridge Township around 3:30 a.m., drove off and returned 20 minutes later to the closed store with a handgun and an assault rifle similar to an AK-47, Middlesex County prosecutor Bruce Kaplan said. About 12 to 14 workers were still there, inputting new prices into the computer.

Tyler fired more than 16 rounds from his rifle, shooting at an employee standing outside and firing as he entered the store, blowing out the front windows, authorities said. He shot at five other workers in an aisle, killing Christina LoBrutto, 18, and Bryan Breen, 24, Kaplan said.

"I do not believe that they were specifically targeted. I believe everybody in the store was a target," said Kaplan.

3. GOP-controlled states with little/no social supports spur insanity ?

I cannot but ask: how many of the mass-murders seemingly committed out of acute despair and deprivation occurred in GOP-controlled neighborhoods whereby the helpless Individual is thrust into insanity by the impossible situation of being unable to succeed, unable to protect and sustain family, in a community which reveres riches and the trappings of success... ? i.e., returning soldiers are trained and functioning in a different frame of mind, emboldened partly by pride in ability to overcome, functioning under control of every thing they do/all survival needs provided in exchange for their blind obedience, ...then RIF'd out, they return home penniless, without any transition from complete and utter dependence/obedience to self-reliance and capability to sustain self/family and participate successfully in their community ... they are often returned without the social supports required to make the psychological transition...and it seems, they break...

We are talking about the simple Social Contract which exists between the Individual and the Community/Society he joins...the Individual gives up some Individuality and Independence in exchange for the benefist of belonging/participating in/contributing to the social group and its well-being collectively ...it is "Reciprocity" which cements the Individual and the Social Group into a cohesive bond of mutual benefit...
[ref. Marcel Mauss "The Gift"] ...a basic social anthropological fact of the formation of social groups, communities, larger groups/nation states... and when the collective group fails to provide more than it asks of the Individual, then the bond between Individual and social group fails, and the Individual either departs to join a another social group which is more advantageous personally, or, .... if the Individual cannot leave the group/cannot find a more advantageous social group belonging, then either suicide [slaying of self] and/or slaying of others which are perceived as threatening to the Individual's survival is a real possibility... [one must assume that the military are screening out applicants who are mentally ill beforehand; and non-military psychopaths/sociopaths are left to wander among us due to the high-mobility norm and the transiency of communities, i.e., everyone is a stranger and positive norms of communities have been utterly nullified, so that, the mentally deranged need only avoid others/keep relocating and no one will ever detect their deviance and danger potential ...

Who created this version of society where the cement which binds the Individual to the Community in a mutually beneficial manner has been dissolved...?/! Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher stood upon the world stage and stated "there is no such thing as society, there is only the marketplace..." and in acts of political self-deification, they dissolved all policies which worked to form cohesive healthy communities under the auspices that it took away personal liberty and taxed to form a nanny government...behind the scenes, the deregulation of banking/finance, business/industries financially enriched the gop-elite while systematically destroying communities, worlds....until the USA deregulation combined with no-boundaries/no limits globalization nearly destroyed the modern democracy worlds around the globe...

and as communities broke down, ...violence replaced social cohesion...institutionalized theft and corporate/monied corruption of US Constitutional Democracy-Bill of Rights governance prevailed...proliferated...spread like a disease ...until now, it seems the norm rather than the exception, the acceptable rather than the deviant behaviors... and in such amoral chaos, Individual insanity and mental collapse erodes what is left of communities...splitting people apart, breaking the social bonds between neighbors...so that, demagogues and coups d'etats and political extremism/cultists have the opportunity to lead the vulnerable away from the flock and devour them....metaphorically speaking...

yes, I am saying that gop-ers are mentally weak just as joiners of 1930's nazi party were weak, and seeking power, they are easily molded to the cause of the likes of a hitler-character seeking control by manipulation and destruction...part of hitler's mystique was the fantasy of the motherland....of BUILDING THE MOTHERLAND...spreading social conformity to nazi party advantage by fantastic tales of re-written history and confabulations of myth/religion/party ideology....

I speak from first-hand knowledge, I was married to the hitler youth-raised progeny of a bona-fide hitler youth leader ... note I said "was" ... one either converts/spiritually dies or one severs the relationship...
there is no compromising, no hope, and the hitler-youth-raised adult may momentarily rebel but ultimately reverts to upbringing, no matter how much soul is forfeited to do so...

Make no mistake, GOP-ism is every bit the same slayer of the Individual soul as Hitler's naziism...and I for one would rather depart or die than conform to fascism ...
