Trump to provide written answers under oath in Summer Zervos defamation lawsuit

Source: washpost

September 9 at 12:43 AM

President Trump will provide written answers under oath in the defamation lawsuit brought by former “Apprentice” contestant Summer Zervos, who claims Trump sexually assaulted her in 2007, a new court filing stated.

Lawyers for Trump and Zervos agreed this week to exchange “written answers and objections” to formal written questions by Sept. 28, according to a document filed Friday with the New York State Supreme Court. Rules in New York state require interrogatories to be sworn or verified, according to a source familiar with the system, meaning that false answers could open Trump to charges of perjury.

The stipulation agreement represents a step forward in the case, which lawyers for Trump have tried to block multiple times this year without success. Zervos sued Trump for defamation in early 2017 after he called her a liar for claiming he had groped and forcibly kissed her 10 years prior. Trump denies wrongdoing in the case.

minimizes what was done to her.

And what is the significance of that song to this situation?

which is one of the definitions of the word and does not minimize what happened to her. In the photo they both look completely miserable, so my addition of the song was completely ironical.

Sorry if that wasn’t readily apparent.

can be wasted here on the pages of DU. Some people are extremely quick to attack others when they see something that irritates them. Counting to 10, or some other delaying tactic for one's temper should be mandatory. I'm not saying that's what happened here, but...... And a happy belated Welcome to Democratic Underground to you, ZZenith!

differs quite a bit from the actual textbook definition. Misogyny defined is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls. I fail to see how the the post in question meets that definition. I acknowledge that some people are hyper-critical of of anyone they perceive to meet those criteria, and I'm certain they have good cause for that feeling, usually due to personal experiences that have led them to those feelings. But sometimes an innocuous comment is just that, and it was or is not intended to demean or display misogyny toward any woman. I don't think the poster's intentions were meant to be misogynistic, but I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder. I hope they're no hard feelings. We're all in this together.

There's really no excuse.

And by the way, THAT'S ironic. "I've had the time of my life" in reference to a woman who was sexually molested is not.

That wasn't my definition, it's the dictionary's. If you want to change the definition, take it up with them. Someone else who won't listen to reason. Buh-bye.
