Appeals Court Tosses Lawsuit Arguing Trump Incited Violence at Rally

Ruling says the presidential candidate’s remarks ‘get ’em out,’ didn’t advocate ‘imminent lawless action’

A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that protesters attacked at a 2016 Trump campaign rally can’t proceed with a lawsuit alleging President Trump incited the violence with inflammatory remarks.

At issue was a March 1, 2016, rally in Louisville, Ky., during the Republican primaries. “Get ’em out. Get ’em out of here,” Mr. Trump said of protesters at the event. “Get ’em the hell out,” he said several minutes later, then added, “Don’t hurt ’em. See, if I say, ‘Go get ’em,’ I get in trouble with the press.”
