A conservative lobbyist friend of Brett Kavanaughs searched for Dr. Christine Bailey Ford on LinkedIn before she was outed as the person who accused the Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault.
The Washington Post reported that on Sunday, Ford forwarded an email to an associate showing that Ethics and Public Policy Center president Ed Whalen had been looking at her LinkedIn profile.
According to the report, Ford sent the email about 90 minutes after the Post shared her name with the White House but before the newspaper posted a story revealing her name on Monday.
In a statement, the White House claimed that neither Kavanaugh nor anyone within the administration shared the accusers name with Whelan.

(26,236 posts)he knows he screwed up and its essentially an admission of guilt on his part because otherwise how would he recall someones name from 20+ years ago?

(26,366 posts)she was revealed to be the accuser.
The timing implies the Washington Post told her name to the Whitehouse and it was the whitehouse that passed the name to the Kavanaugh ally.

(26,721 posts)The Post wasn't the only media outlet that had discovered her identity. I think she said that she decided to come forward because press inquiries made clear that she wasn't really anonymous any longer.
So it isn't remarkable that he caught wind of it (perhaps on background)... but it does make his "Ethics and Public Policy Center" title even more ironic than it was already.

(282 posts)and that Kavanaugh knew about Whalen and the PR company that was going to basically accuse Gary Garret and dox him.
That has to be enough to disqualify Kavanaugh, yes?

(57,312 posts)You remember:
It was the one where the killer left the car radio tuned to a classical station. He forgot that the victim listened to country music.
Either that, or it was the one where the killer left a lighter on the credenza. He didn't know that the victim used matches to light his pipe.
At any rate, the killer thought he was clever, but he wasn't clever enough. There was one detail he had not taken into consideration.
And that's how Columbo caught him.
Seriously, more than anything else, this makes me think that someone on the outside has gained access to the Washington Post's servers. He knows what's in the articles before they are made public.
You wouldn't happen to have lost one of your Enigma machines, would you, Washington Post?
