Iran warns U.S., Israel of revenge after parade attack

LONDON (Reuters) - The deputy head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned U.S. and Israeli leaders on Monday to expect a “devastating” response from Tehran, accusing them of involvement in an attack on a military parade in the city of Ahvaz.

“You have seen our revenge before ... You will see that our response will be crushing and devastating and you will regret what you have done,” Hossein Salami said in a speech before the funeral of the victims broadcast live on the state television.

Thousands of people packed the streets of the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz to mourn the victims of Saturday’s assault that killed 25 people, including 12 members of the elite Revolutionary Guards. Many chanted “death to Israel and America”.

The coffins, wrapped in the flag of the Islamic Republic, were carried by the mourners. Many held pictures of a four year old boy killed in the attack, one of the worst against the most powerful military force of the Islamic Republic.

1. Hmm, I just ws watching Morning Schmoe and there was a quote from Guiliani -

Sooner or later, there will be regime change. That is what we will make happen.

8. Yet the WH and State Department deny our policy is regime change

and were angry that John Kerry and Wendy Sherman warned that it looked like it was. What is clear is that the war that Israel and the Sunni nations and our neocons wanted that the nuclear deal avoided might be being ginned up again.

2. I doubt Israel or the US had anything at all to do with the shootings.

Why? Well the US would more likely invade Iran if it really wanted to do something about Iran where as Israel is more likely to send in their airforce to attack them but shooting up a parade?Nope.
Now Russia on the other hand would probably try and make it look like the US or Israel did it to try and incite more tensions in the region as well as sway Iran towards Russia even more.

4. I doubt Israel and US are above a little terrorism and hiring mercenaries if as you say they

wish in their heart of hearts to invade the entire country.

And their is a dictatorial puppet governments of America all over the place nearby willing to be proxies...Saudi, I am looking at you.

5. I did not say that they would not do some things like assassinations of select people

but shooting up a parade like this? Not very likely as there are easier methods to attack such a thing like for example the US has drones and Israel just would not give a damn and would just send its airforce in if it wanted to attack it.
But sending in actual people or smuggling in the weapons and then coordinating it from a distance are all potential issues plus if one of the people with information is caught your entire operation is blown so it would be pretty pointless.
Now if your goal is to cause another country to seek your help by setting it up to look like another country did it and you already have some people in power in that country willing to go along with it for your support in helping them remain in power then ya I can see Russia doing this.

6. The Revolutionary Guard was selected, were they not? Very political mass murder...and kind of

important not to give away the game by...declaring open war!

7. If the US or Israel wanted to send a direct message they would more likely hit the headquarters for

them rather than wait for some parade.
After all its far easier to hit a target on time if you know its location is not likely to change like a headquarters and an armed drone from the US or a jet from Israel is more likely to be used in those cases.
