When Gov. Scott Walker mounted his first gubernatorial campaign he made a bold claim: that during his first term as governor he would create 250,000 jobs for Wisconsinites. He is just now nearing that figure after nearly two terms on the job.
Most economists believe that governors have a limited impact on how many jobs are created in a given state. That being said, local economist Bruce Thompson believes Walkers policies may have actually resulted in a loss of 80,000 jobs in Wisconsin.
Thompson created an algorithm which essentially calculates how many jobs would have been created in Wisconsin, regardless of who was governor. He did this by using data from several states in the upper Midwest: Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. The data comes from labor reports from each state, collected since 1990.
Data is from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and retrieved from FRED, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

"It was all predicting Wisconsin's jobs based on the jobs in those six other states. The idea is that all of these states are pretty much reacting to the same things. They go up when there's a lot of demand for agricultural goods or manufactured things. They all suffer from the global movement of production overseas," says Thompson............................................

Who gets in as Governors in national news. Tony Evers, the WI school superintendent is actually a few points ahead of Walker as of this week. Can't believe it--but Wisconsinites might finally be waking up!!
Walker also LIES about as much as Trump--if that is possible!!

This is just off the top of my head, but I believe Dayton in Minnesota has been in office the same as Snotty.
IIRC Minnesota is mopping the floor with Wisconsin in many areas.

(70,077 posts)to WI. To say the least Walker was not happy. But Walker had started the little tit for tat by a snarky comment to Dayton, although I do not recall the specifics. Karma is settling in on Walker (I hope).

If the Packers happen to win this season, I do not want Wanker on stage. The NFL is union!
I moved from Milwaukee in 1973, before it got spruced up. Even the domes were new.
Please vote this douche out before he kills the DNR.

One other negative to consider, Paul Ryan is from WI too. He hasn't helped either. Most of his accomplishments have been one of being a spineless coward in truly standing up for decency when rump said or did something outlandish. Also, the $4 TRILLION dollar give away, 2018 Tax Cut and Jobs bill will hang around his neck forever. Hypocrite.
