Judge Brett Kavanaughs friend Mark Judge is willing to cooperate with the FBI or any law enforcement agency, his lawyer said in a statement on Friday.
Republican Sen. Jeff Flake on Friday called for a delay on Kavanaughs confirmation vote with the full Senate to give time for an FBI investigation into accusations against him.
If the FBI or any law enforcement agency requests Mr. Judges cooperation, he will answer any and all questions posed to him, attorney Barbara Van Gelder said of Judge.
Christine Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of sexual and physical assault while they were at a party during their high school years more than 30 years ago. Ford also claimed that Judge was in the room when the alleged assault took place.
He has so far declined to comment publicly beyond a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee denying knowledge of the incident...

Today, Friday, Judge also wrote a letter to the committee denying allegations from Julie Swetnick, who said he and Kavanaugh were present at a party where she was drugged and gang raped.

"Wasted: Tales of a GenX Drunk"
1997 memoir about alcoholism, binge drinking, and hookup culture at Georgetown Preparatory School, written by Mark Gauvreau Judge. Judge recounts his early formative experiences growing up in suburbs of Washington, D.C. under Catholic school education. The author describes his secondary education at Georgetown Preparatory School as filled with heavy drinking and experiences of teenage alcoholism. The book criticizes Alcoholics Anonymous for its lack of acknowledgement of physiological causes of alcoholism as a disease process. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasted:_Tales_of_a_GenX_Drunk
- "Kavanaugh Friend Mark Judge Goes Silent," Assoc. Press, Sept. 25, 2018. Although Kavanaugh and Judge played on the school's football team and partied together, Madaleno did not remember the future judge the same way. "There's no guilt by association," he said. Maryland state Sen. Richard Madaleno, who was in Georgetown Prep's 1983 graduating class with Kavanaugh and Judge, sharply remembers Judge as "nasty to other people."
"He was an unhappy person who dealt with his own demons by making other people unhappy," Madaleno said, "especially those of us who he perceived to be on a lower rung of the high school ladder." A Democrat who mounted an unsuccessful 2018 candidacy for Maryland governor, Madaleno said if he had been asked 25 years ago who was the most difficult person at the school, "I would have answered Mark Judge."
Two other Georgetown Prep classmates elaborated on Judge's "bully" persona at the time: Quick-witted and adroit with insults, he taunted kids with weight problems or foreign names. He dismissed many of those outside of his circle as "losers." He questioned the sexuality of members of the school's swim team. He sometimes openly mocked teachers and priests.
But three classmates, one speaking publicly and the other two speaking anonymously, portrayed Judge as a bullying presence during classes, and at weekend parties where athletes gathered at night to tap kegs of beer and woo girls from nearby schools. The two who requested anonymity did so out of concern that talking publicly about this issue could jeopardize their business and professional relationships within the tight-knit Georgetown Prep community. https://www.democraticunderground.com/1016216493
I expect most of his answers are going to be, "I don't recall," and blame his alcoholism. He's not going to be the witness everyone has been demanding. But there are plenty of others.

God, this pisses me off every damn day. The reich wing controls the narrative. This is why there are all of the attacks against Avenatti, he is one person on the left who has the ability to change the narrative away from the reich. Avenatti doesn't say Kavanaugh misled, he says Kavanaugh lied. God I hope his client has proof of her accusations.
Kavanaugh is a monster.

(19,199 posts)lie his way through the hearing. Will he do the same, or will his sobriety prevent him from doing so? His wanting the interview to remain confidential tells me he has something to say that he doesn't want others to know about. Selling Brett out, or lying like a $3 rug to protect him? There is zero chance the interview remains confidential, so his story is going to be known. I hope he tags Kavanaugh as the cheap, stumbling drunk and sexual predator Kavanaugh really was. The entitled rich white boy doesn't get his dream job. Cry me a river, Brett.
