Evidence suggests crown prince ordered Khashoggi killing, says ex-MI6 chief

Source: The Guardian

A former head of MI6 has said all the evidence suggests Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was behind the death of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and that the theory that rogue elements in the Saudi military were responsible was “blatant fiction”.
<snip>

“I think President Trump and his ministerial team are waking up to just how dangerous it is to have people acting with a sense that they have impunity in their relationship with the United States,” Sawers said.

“If it is proven, and it looks very likely to be the case, that [Prince Mohammed] ordered the killing of the journalist it is a step too far – one that the UK, the EU and the US are going to have to respond to.”

towards full out fascism.

this was a trial run.

first a us resident journalist in a foreign country

next a us citizen journalist in a foreign country

then finally a us citizen journalist in our country.

Yesterday I came to a stop at a red light and in front of me was a white van spray painted "CNN FAKE NEWS" and in the back window was a photo of Don Lemon hanging from a tree.

His base is being primed to accept this, we are being primed to expect it and feel powerless when it happens.

Arm yourselves fellow progressives, and pray you never need them.

but it has been glaringly apparent to me for quite some time now how ironic it is that it's our party that has for so long been working to enact more stringent gun control laws, and mocking the notion of being armed to protect against a tyrannical government, specifically because it has been obvious to me for at least a decade that if ever this country did descend into fascism, it would be we Democrats who would be targeted, and thus have a legitimate need to be armed for self-defense.

gun reform. but make no distinction about it, I am a gun owner. in the plural.

I live on 7 acres, my property fenced. I have 4 spare bedrooms, run on solar and well, and a very full pantry.

if shit ever goes down, i'm more than happy to lend a hand...or an arm.

journalists. For two years we have seen people asking daily "How can his actions get any worse?" Yet, they do. What was once unthinkable becomes the new normal. It is not by accident.

I still think the Crown Prince talked to DJT about Khashoggi coming to SA. I'll bet he even offered DJT lots of money if he could somehow lure Khashoggi to SA. I believe DJT did and that is why Pompeo went to SA after the murder was to get that money. You know DJT was responsible, otherwise why would he keep saying how wonderful these madmen/murders are - instead he refuses to really come down hard on any of them. DJT relates to all greedy, cruel men because he and his sons are just like them.

So gruesome. Reminds me of beginning days of terrible WW2, particularly Nazi Germany, and the "good" Germans.
