Hunter lead dwindles to just 3 points over Campa-Najjar, KGTV and San Diego Union-Tribune finds

Every vote counts in the 50th Congressional District, where an upset win by Democrats is looking increasingly possible depending on voter turnout.

Under felony indictment, Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter’s lead over Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar has slipped to a slim three points, 48% to 45%, according to a new poll conducted by Survey USA for KGTV 10 News and the San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper.

Among voters who say they already turned in ballots, the margin shrinks to just 1 percent, 49% to 48%.

Over half the voters surveyed, 53%, said they believe Hunter broke the law and only 19% believe he didn’t; 57% find Hunter’s claim that his wife is responsible for diverting a quarter million dollars in campaign finance funds for personal use to be unbelievable.

I find it disappointing that a major labor group just pulled its support (precinct walking greatly needed) from Campa-Najjar over his stance on a state ballot measure to repeal the gas tax.

Campa Najjar has a real shot at winning but he needs all hands on deck to walk precincts, phone bank, etc. to take back a seat held for decades by the right-wing Republican Hunter family in a deeply red district. He's a smart, caring, progressive Democratic who has been targeted with vile racist smears by Hunter.

Fux News ads on TV during Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and Lawrence during the past two days. I never saw that before. It scared me...I thought it was a joke for Halloween week.

At least 2 elected officials who are Republicans in local offices have told me they think Hunter will lose or that it's a toss up. Hunter has brought out the big guns - Daddy Hunter, the former Congressman, to campaign for him.

His photo reveals him to be far more focused, alert, direct, intelligent than the treacherous, completely unethical, and stupid Duncan Hunter and his freakish father together.

Voters owe it to themselves to send a sane person to Washington, one who is bright, and not a congenital thief and liar.

7. CBS News did a feature on this race last night

and found 2 guys who will vote for Hunter regardless. They're scared of Muslims infiltrating Congress. Overall they reported this district will vote for Hunter even if he's ultimately found guilty and jailed, then they'll vote for the next Republican.

They also featured his opponent while showing the smear campaign against him.

At which point I turned to a 'Bewitched' marathon.

my used to be progressive nephew is now firmly on the fascist side after 3 tours in the bush wars. All he talks about in a Muslim takeover. I believe the military is pretty much a brainwashing exercise now days, churns out fascists to suit its means. He is still being used on special mission though he wanted to retire.
