Racist robocall targets Stacey Abrams, Oprah in Georgia governor's race

A white supremacist group that targeted Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum with racist robocalls is now targeting Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

The prerecorded phone message features a voice impersonating Oprah Winfrey, who was in Georgia on Thursday stumping for Abrams, and contains racist and anti-Semitic rhetoric.

The robocall went out to Georgia voters, but it is unclear how many received it.

Abrams' Republican opponent, Brian Kemp, strongly denounced the automated call, calling it "absolutely disgusting" in a statement Friday.

Repugs use secretly funded rogue outfits to spread hate and divisiveness but when questioned about a nasty mailing, TV broadcast, or robocall say "I had nothing to do with it". Mitch McConnell has been a master of this method through the years.

But the damage is done regardless of their denials.......

I just got a mailing yesterday filled with lies about a Dem state rep candidate I support that came from a Repug opponent. Regardless of the outcome, I intend to write the Repug a stern letter rebuking his and his party's non-stop lying and deception. These people have zero respect for the concept of humble public service.

“Years ago, the Jews who own the American media saw something in me.” the call begins, in a voice that no sane person would think was Oprah Winfrey, adding: “The ability to trick dumb white women into thinking I was like them and to do, read and think what I told them to. I see that same potential in Stacey Abrams.”

“Where others see a poor man’s Aunt Jemima, I see someone white women can be tricked into voting for,” the call in which you are supposed to be outraged by continues. “Especially the fat ones.”

I hope they find this asshole, and post his photo far and wide. I want to see who is so stupid as to insult the very people who he is trying to sway. That shitbag is not very bright.
