The U.S. Olympic Committee on Monday began proceedings to revoke USA Gymnastics’ status as a national governing body, a rare move that comes after two years of near-constant turmoil in the wake of the Larry Nassar sexual-abuse scandal.

The decision is one the USOC had long resisted as the gymnastics federation attempted to recover from the scandal, in which Nassar, the U.S. gymnastics team’s longtime doctor, was accused of abusing hundreds of athletes under the guise of medical treatment. want them to do at this point that they are not doing? I'm truly curious. This incident was horrible, but it happened and the guy is in prison. I get that it wasn't handled as it should have been. I get that changes need to be made so that this doesn't happen again. I follow gymnastics casually, but can't seem to find info on what is wanted going forward that is not happening. What is the problem RIGHT NOW?
