Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker loses to Democrat Tony Evers

Source: W Post

by Gabriel Pogrund

Tony Evers has defeated Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), depriving him of a third term and delivering a long-awaited victory for the state’s Democrats, who unsuccessfully tried to recall the controversial incumbent in 2012.

The state superintendent of public instruction, Evers was seen as a safe but unexciting candidate whose resume would be just enough to oust the incumbent based on both his and the president’s dwindling popularity. Trump narrowly won the state by less than one percentage point in 2016.

The son of a Baptist pastor, Walker rode the tea party wave to power in 2010 and had an unsuccessful tilt at the presidential nomination in 2016. But it was his efforts at endearing himself to the GOP base that damaged his popularity among moderates and proved costly.

Walker was hammered for his budget cuts, his opposition to unions and an economy that Democrats said lagged behind the rest of the nation. Evers, a cancer survivor, also accused the Republican of opposing Obamacare.

I wish Evers all the best trying to untangle the mess Walker created. The full price of Walker's trickle down policies is a lot more than tax abatements. Hope he gets s handle on the situation quickly, exposes the fraud and opens some eyes. I hope he can somehow mitigate the damage.

Now let's get rid of FoxCON.

The latest twist is that FoxCON was planning to bring Chinese workers to Wisconsin to fill jobs that Walker promised would come with FoxCON.

Jobs yes. American / Wisconsin jobs NO. At least not as many as we were promised.

The CON in FoxCON says it all.

Look, while i've been alive, there have been 4 governors sent to prison for corruption (and the most corrupt got away with it).

But, Rauner is the WORST in my lifetime. A petulant manchild with more money than brains. Sound like someone else we know?

For Pete’s sake, Wisconsin was where the American labor movement was born. How on earth Wisconsin voters saw fit to choose a governor with an agenda SO hostile to the working man/woman - and union protections for those working men and women, I will never understand.

Wisconsin has such a strong progressive, pro-union, pro-working class history. I hope this is the start of the rebound for them and our country.
