Nelson, Scott race headed to recount

Source: Politico

By MATT DIXON 11/07/2018 10:14 AM EST

Sen. Bill Nelson's campaign announced Wednesday morning that his race against Gov. Rick Scott is headed to a recount. Of the 8.1 million votes cast, Scott leads by just 34,537 votes, which is less than one-half point, the threshold for a state-mandated recount.

"We are proceeding to a recount," Nelson said Wednesday in a statement.

The three-term Democratic senator released a statement at 1 a.m. Wednesday morning announcing that he was disappointed in the election night results.

Now, all of Florida's 67 counties need to recheck tally totals. The deadline for the process is noon on Nov. 10.

I don’t understand how in the same night we could ban offshore drilling, ban greyhound racing, restore voting rights to felons, and yet at the same time elect Ron and Rick - 2 insane scumbags that don’t give a shit about anything but money.
It’s fucked up.

It has to be that (r) after their name, and the color of a certain man's skin.

I don't get why people vote against their interests. All one needs to do here is go to the beach.

Numbers released Monday morning by the state’s Division of Elections show a total of over 5.1 million people had either taken part in early voting or had mailed in their absentee ballots. Another 1.1 million absentee ballots that were requested had not been submitted as of this weekend.

that possibly a million requested absentee ballots and didn't participate (or their ballots haven't arrived yet) which is a shame. I have no idea how many ballots are still on their way or what the deadline rules are.
