Florida's Governor, Senate, Ag Races May Be Subjected To Recount

Source: CBS Miami

Election departments across the state are still counting vote-by-mail, provisional, and overseas ballots.

Gillum is currently .12 percent away from a recount threshold. He just needs 500 vote swing toward his column.

State law requires a recount when candidates are within one-half point when all the votes are counted.

If it reaches .5 percent, it automatically triggers a statewide machine recount. If it goes within .25, it triggers a manual recount.

As of yesterday, 6 pm, Gillum only needed 500 more vote swings!

Match the paper to the machine totals. Discover the funny business going on.

4. If the margin is equal to or less than 0.25 percent, a hand recount is ordered

... otherwise, an electronic counter is used.

15. I believe I read that the automatic recount is a machine recount.

But the candidates can request some sort of hand recount. I think Nelson intimated that he would ask for the recount, which I means the hand recount. He is within the narrow % to the winner that an automatic recount has been triggered.

2. "Statewide machine recount" means just feed the ballots back through the same machines, right?

I seem to recall some minor events concerning a recount in Florida once before...and thanks for keeping us hanging, Chad!

and I'm hoping that if enough irregularities show up, Gillum will get one too regardless of the margin.

The races of Gillum and Abrams were hacked by Drump's Russian cronies. Thank goodness County Clerks in Florida and Georgia continue to RESIST for ensuring a Fair Election were ALL VOTES ARE COUNTED.

Also, Gillium should have not Conceded until all votes were counted, just like Abrams refused to do so.

dirty tricks. Dirty tricks by a soulless party. To quote Mermaid Man “there’s evil afoot.” Yes I just quoted a cartoon character. 🤪

9. Why did Gillium concede so fast?

Knowing that:
1. Republicans cheat.
2. Rick Scott is the governor, so he has the leverage to help the cheating.
2.1 Rick Scott has a history of dirty behaviour
3. Florida is notorious for cheating in elections
4. Poll numbers during the campaign fluctuated, but many times they favored Gillium
5. And did I say republicans cheat?

Also, knowing there were more votes to be counted, why give up so fast? I do hope there is a recount, I have a feeling, and hope, that it will turn out in favor of Gillium.

Concede, give an inspired concession speech, and then wait for the recount. I think Nelson may be taking one for the team on this by holding out, which is a surprising level of cooperation for Dems.

11. RECOUNT MANIA - 5 Florida races are headed for review (not including the Governor's race)
Thu Nov 8, 2018, 09:00 AM
Nov 2018

UNPRECEDENTED — “Dems fear Florida recount is already amiss,” by POLITICO’s Alexandra Glorioso: Florida is in statewide recount mania. So far, five races are headed for review: The U.S. Senate race, a state cabinet race, a state Senate race and two state House races. And the governor’s race, with an excruciatingly close vote tally, could also be forced into a recount. This is all new territory. And Democrats are worried they’re starting off on the wrong foot. “Florida Democrats are reaching out to every Supervisor of Elections office to receive data on provisional ballots to ensure that everyone who voted has the information they need for their vote to be counted,” Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Juan Peñalosa said in an emailed Wednesday. “This is an urgent matter and we are hoping they will comply with our legal requests to ensure a fair election.”

12. Recount!

These inexplicable discrepancies need to be explained. For instance, how is it possible that Nelson got more votes from AA women than did Gillum? That simply is not possible.

13. even more so when you factor in how many didn't vote for senator!

and that 5 page ballot in Broward, front and back, 18x6, was insane! A lot of people thought the Senate race wasn't even on it.
