(CNN) - LISBON -- Two years after a campaign marred by hacking, the Democratic National Committee's chief technology officer thinks they may have avoided a similar situation in the 2018 midterm elections.

In his first interview after the midterm elections at the Web Summit conference, Raffi Krikorian told CNN Business they "didn't hear much" on Election Day -- but said the DNC remains on alert for trouble.

"Remember, any sophisticated attack is not something we're going to detect today, it's something we're going to detect a few days or a few weeks or a few months from now," he said.

A sophisticated hacker would figure out a way around the alerts and monitors the DNC has set up, he said. So now the DNC is in the middle of a post-mortem study.

1. Is that why, per 'adjusted' exit polls, 17% of Black women voted for de Santis?

I've found some of Cheeto's whoppers easier to believe than that one.

2. 83% of black women not voting for de Santis is not that bad actually.

I don't care who the candidate is they are never going to get 100%. Even President Obama didn't get 100% of the black women's vote.

3. It's just hard to believe an overt racist like de Santis could get 17% of their vote

Least of all against a charismatic Black candidate like Gillum.

The GOPee rarely gets more than 10% of Black women's votes in any race (usually low single digits).

They know better than anyone that to a typical Republican, there is hardly a more contemptible being than a Black woman.

4. Reports were coming out of Texas that some machines were flipping votes

from Beto to Cruz. after many complaints, the Repug. election head said it was due to voters making a mistake, but the reports that STILL came out were pretty detailed and from apparently smart voters.

don't know how DNC vote watchers could have missed the news stories about that.

But then the GOPee, since Kissinger in '68, have proven very adept at committing henious crimes and getting away with them.

Here's to Beto O'Rourke's future. It's definitely still there.

Harris county is home to Houston, and is bigger than 24 states.
