State AGs Call For Whitaker to Recuse Himself From Mueller Probe

Source: Mediaite

Following the firing of Jeff Sessions, more than a dozen attorneys general are calling for Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to recuse himself from Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

In a letter dated Thursday, the coalition contended that Whitaker, a known opponent of Mueller’s probe, could be harboring bias.

“Because a reasonable person could question your impartiality in the matter, your recusal is necessary to maintain public trust in the integrity of the investigation and to protect the essential and longstanding independence of the Department you have been chosen to lead, on an acting basis,” it read.

So far, 18 attorneys general signed the letter from Massachusetts, New York, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

can be Attorney General per the Constitution.

Also anyone in a case in which it is them vs the Attorney General has standing to challenge Whitaker’s appointment as does anyone in Congress.

Like many now are stating in the legal field. Trump wants absolute power , and a Department of Trump Justice , where he picks and chooses who next to be targeted for made up crimes to run through his kangaroo courts. Hillary , Holder, President Obama , and all former intel people. All opposition become criminals under this type of lawlessness moves. Its also another clear act of obstruction of justice. If trump is allowed to determine if any investigation of him can be stopped by him , using a lackey AG, its another step into absolute power, not a Democracy, this cannot stand. If trump got pre conditions from this appointee to stop or hurt the investigation that's conspiracy to obstruct justice, and he then can be charged as a co-conspirator. HE will go to prison if he did, and he'd better be careful if they already know what he's done. I think this guy is pretty stupid if he thinks he can get away with this, or he should read up on some history where two AG's under Nixon were sent to prison. He will not escape justice.
