Former White House correspondent says CNN is suing over Acosta press credentials

Source: The Hill

Longtime ABC News White House correspondent Sam Donaldson said Sunday that CNN and its chief White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, are suing the Trump administration over Acosta’s revoked press credentials.

Donaldson, speaking on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” said that he has been asked to submit an affidavit in the lawsuit in preparation for a court hearing this week.

The White House pulled Acosta’s hard pass after a tense exchange between him and President Trump during a press conference last week.

The White House cited Acosta’s interaction with a press aide as reason to pull the credentials, accusing him of “placing his hands on" her. In return, CNN accused White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders of “fraudulent accusations."”

...interrupting Donaldson, twice, with "well, I didn't hear about it."

Thankfully Donaldson snapped back saying (not exact quote) "well I'm preparing an affidavit to submit on Tuesday morning." I'm more inclined to believe Donaldson than pissy Stelter.

Something needs to be done about this assault on the press. But I wish the press would agree on a way to address this collectively (with obvious exceptions like Fox News). From reading advise from reporters from facist regimes, the press uniting against these attacks is pretty important.

I do, too! There MUST be consequences for this shit! For this malfeasance, crookedness, and dictatorial behavior. This is NOT a dictatorship, donald. Regardless how badly you want it to be. And btw - GET THE HELL OUT of Hillary's house!!! And STOP using her jumbo jet and her helicopter. And STOP showing up in public where the President is supposed to make an appearance. Electoral College be damned. SHE won this thing. NOT YOU!

Journalists have also vs USA government in the Federal courts over free press issues. CNN should do the same, I think they will after this plays out. CNN follows the president in France, that's why he's 'hiding'.
