Democrat Katie Porter overtakes GOP Rep. Mimi Walters in Orange County district ballot count

Source: San Diego Union-Tribune

After clinging for a week to a slim lead in her run for reelection, Republican Rep. Mimi Walters fell 261 votes behind her Democratic challenger Katie Porter as Orange County’s latest ballot count Tuesday underscored the increasingly bleak fortunes of the California GOP.

Democrats have already won three of the GOP’s 14 House seats in California, and Walters’ is one of three others the party is also in serious danger of losing as county registrars finish counting ballots from the Nov. 6 election.

Republican Rep. Jeff Denham dropped further behind Democrat Josh Harder when San Joaquin County released its latest vote count. Denham is now 3,447 votes behind.

And Young Kim, the Republican running to succeed GOP Rep. Ed Royce of Fullerton, saw her lead over Democrat Gil Cisneros shrink Tuesday to 711 votes as Orange and Los Angeles counties updated their tallies.

increasingy diverse district with large asian american population and highly educated people. It voted for Clinton in 2016. Doesn’t get much bluer than that.

They used to be like the Cubans with hatred of Democrats whom they equated with being soft on the commies.

One of my friends from OC whom I used to party with a lot back in my late twenties was a gorgeous pop star in the Vietnamese community. I still chat with her from time to time on Facebook...sadly, I found out that she is a total trumper despising socialism blah blah blah. She is so much less attractive now!

I know three converts (wealthy indian americans) from SoCal. GOP is now explicitly white nationalist party, no racial minority is truly welcome or considered equal anymore.

Dana the Russian is/was my congressman but I think I despise MW even more because not even the Russian voted for that abomination of a tax bill like she did. Go Katie, go!

There are many expensive homes in her district that can no longer deduct their mortgages interests and their property taxed.

are:

CA-1 LaMalfa
CA-4 McClintock
CA-8 Cook
CA-21 Valadao
CA-22 Nunes
CA-23 McCarthy
CA-42 Calvert
CA-50 Hunter

Half of those guys are, even for people who follow politics, rather anonymous/unknown at the national level. But 3 of them (Nunes, McCarthy, Hunter) are nationally recognized Grade-A, top shelf, USDA Prime Turdburgers.

We're moving CA-10 from Likely D to Solid D, and CA-45, where Katie Porter has taken the lead over Mimi Walters, from Lean D to Likely D. We still have CA-39 at Lean D but that's pretty generous to Young Kim (R), whose lead is down to 0.4 points and keeps slipping.

That all white little celebration they had after voting to take health insurance away from 25 million Americans. Trying to post it here.
