JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - A new video surfaced suggesting Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith calling for stricter voting laws.

The video, which was taken at a campaign stop in Starkville on November 3rd, starts with Sen. Hyde-Smith being asked about voting.

Sen. Hyde-Smith says: "And then they remind me, that there's a lot of liberal folks in those other schools who that maybe we don't want to vote. Maybe we want to make it just a little more difficult. And I think that's a great idea."

Sen. Hyde-Smith was already facing controversy after comments she made during a Tupelo campaign stop on November 2nd where she said: "If I was invited to a public hanging, I would be on the front row."

she's considered the more moderate of the two R's that ran for Thad Cochran's open seat....

She may just manage to pull a Judge Roy Moore and get Espy elected.

On top of that, Tupelo and Starkville aren't exactly the most racist parts of the state.

That is the crystallization of the GOP agenda on the issue of voting.

The DNC should consider ad-packaging statements like these (and there are plenty) including a brief, polite reminder that goes to principle. Then buy online, radio, and broadcast media space in key swing media markets, and put this shit out there for broader public consumption and consideration.

Let the GOP die by its words.

Now you know why Mississippi is last in most everything. They are still fighting the civil war. Wake up folks, you can change the way things are.
