Bill Nelson concedes Florida Senate race to Rick Scott

Source: CNN

(CNN)Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson on Sunday conceded the Florida Senate race to Republican Gov. Rick Scott, ending his re-election bid after the completion of a statewide recount.

Scott announced the concession in a statement, saying, "I just spoke with Senator Bill Nelson, who graciously conceded, and I thanked him for his years of public service."

Nelson will make a statement at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, his campaign announced.

The concession brings to conclusion a key Senate race that continued to be fought well after Election Day.

I'm not happy about this. All the close elections were "pulled out" by the republicans (i.e., they cheated!)

many Floridians do understand that Scott's a crook and they embrace it. It's the same reason that so many Americans are attracted to the Orange Anus and his crime family - they love the bad dude who's flaunting their disregard of the law and society's norms. Hillary was viciously attacked for referring to these degenerates as "deplorables". I think she was being overly generous to them.

Between the politics and the stand your ground laws. Not a dime of my money will ever go to Florida. I refuse to go there on a cruise or back to Disneyworld.

Crazy state with cray cray repuke voters. How they could have elects the crook skeletor in the first place as governor and now senator is appalling. When the global warming gets worst and there is leadership as the head of state who denys it, that state is doomed.

Naples, Florida, the "hometown" of Rick Scott. Damn, the man is from ILLINOIS, not Florida. He is God in that part of Florida. I worked in Collier Public Schools. The Fraud, Space Alien couldn't last more than an hour in a public school without making the little children cry.

Thought I was done with him after moving, but now he is inflicted on the rest of the country in the Senate.

The decisive issues (explored very clearly in the 2016 elections by Greg Palast) are the policies of voter suppression, usually giving the GOP an edge of at least several hundred thousand improperly purged voters, overwhelmingly Democratic-leaning, that seem NOT to be the focus, including the NY Times, in either the recount laws OR the party actions and press coverage. We DO hear a lot about under votes, overvotes, requiring an exact (subjectively decided) signature match in FL, and a plethora of lawsuits, but the elephant(s) in the room are danced around systematically, with the mainstream media and Democratic Party national leadership like a horde of Baryshnikovs doing the evasive dancing. Grassroots Democrats like from DU need to bring systematic pressure, sometimes perhaps through (where I am quite limited) organizations like "Our Revolution" but also otherwise, including in the netsphere or stuff originating here, on these "Greg Palast" election stealing issues

The problem is NOT just with the GOP but the Democratic Party leadership and the mainstream media -- and ONLY grassroots Democrats are at all likely to make the ENORMOUS STINK about this to become unavoidable, as it has been avoided successfully so far.

I mean truly damning evidence like an audio recording of a meeting where they discussed and planned how to do it and why they were doing it.
Until that emerges the media wont really do much reporting because they will conclude that most of the public will view it as as unsubstantiated claims by someone that's butt hurt over losing an election.

Florida, the only state where South is North and North is South....

I realize all this "Hate Florida" makes you feel better and I believe we should close this chapter and move on and think of 2020...
What can we do in the Democratic Party of Florida to correct this problem with the rePukes..
Approving ex felons to vote is a big step. How can we control the narrative so gerrymandering gets squashed? How can we correct voter suppression... I think after all this "feel good" hate Florida rhetoric is over we should get down to work for the future.
