Team Obama previews acceptance speech with ‘Promises Kept’

Source: The Hill

President Obama's campaign is looking to build anticipation for Thursday night's acceptance speech with a new video highlighting achievements from the president's first term.

The Web ad, titled "Promises Kept," uses clips of Obama's 2008 acceptance speech to argue that the president has made good on the pledges he made during his last White House run.

"From cutting taxes for middle-class families to bringing about comprehensive healthcare reform to reinvesting in education and infrastructure, President Obama has kept his promise to rebuild America for millions of families," the Obama campaign said in a statement.

Among the claims: that Obama signed 18 tax cuts, created 4.5 million private-sector jobs, ended the war in Iraq and signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. The video also credits Obama for saving the U.S. auto industry, passing the Affordable Care Act and investing in alternative energy.

Why do campaigns release preview copies of an address to be given?

I know it gets your message out there; but doesn't that just give the talking heads in the liberal media more time to prove their fair and biasedness ... oops ... balancedness, by searching out any statement that can be arguably contested ... even if that means arguing what is clearly not being said (yes, I'm talking to you cnn), just so they can say "see, the job creation numbers he gave (as we have re-interpreted them) is EXACTLY the same as ryan's laying the blame for a factory closure on President Obama ... they both spin?"

Wouldn't it be better to give an un-previewed address and make the make their false equivilency arguments hours later?

My fingers originally actually typed "biasedness" rather than the "balancedness" that my brain was telling them type.

Can anyone tell the difference between a fact checker and a nit picker? Really. Will close counts, or will the Republicans plan the liar, your fifty jobs short.
