Gowdy requests info on Ivanka Trump's personal email use

Source: The Hill

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) sent a letter to the White House Tuesday asking for information on Ivanka Trump's usage of her personal email to discuss government business.

Gowdy, chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, requested that White House chief of staff John Kelly provide information on the basis that using that email "implicate[s] the Presidential Records Act and other security and recordkeeping requirements."

The letter also set a Dec. 5 deadline for a response to the inquiry and asked that the Committee be kept up to date on the internal White House investigation on recordkeeping, including any findings related to Ivanka's email usage.

The Washington Post first reported early Tuesday that Ivanka sent hundreds of emails about White House business and her official schedule to administration aides, Cabinet officials and her personal assistants during 2017.

I see him like Sessions. His whole idea of what our constitutional government is fundamentally different that ours. But they are not corrupt in the traditional sense of the word. They still value the rule of law, even if their idea of the playing field is totally fucked. And he was a prosecutor. He actually admitted the Bengazi thing was political.

That’s why he is leaving. If trump had just brought in very conservative ideas like Reagan did he would be sticking around. God knows I hate Reagan, but he was no trump. Gowdy knows the fuckers are trashing the rule of law daily and even he reached his breaking point. Now a truly ethical person would have called it out. but He has his future to think about.

I post this reluctantly because I am not a good enough writer to explain what I truly mean. Suffice to say there are conservatives who are not down with wrecking our entire system. 40 of the just retired from the house.

He is one of those - Sessions included -who set the table for Trump. Sessions openly supported Trump. They are Trump’s enablers, IMO.

I just think he did not foresee trump would go this far.

He is a dick. But he knows laws are being violated daily and did not sign up for that. He had a bridge too far. Same as Sessions. He would push us as far right as possible. But having the Justice Department do the presidents bidding was a bridge too far. And now we have a man with no bridge too far as his replacement.

But you know what happened when we stretched for a bridge too far? Where the term comes from? It did not end well for the stretchers.

Someone with his resume knows better. He errors not by breaking laws, but by distortion and using his credentials to suggest his efforts are those of law enforcement. He is unethical.

I believe Gowdy was one of the stretchers who gave is Trump.

I agree he and Sessions see a line they won't cross. They leave rather than fight or be fired and pretend to be clean.

Like Sessions, Trey’s ideas are strictly alien to me, and I will never stop the memory of Trey and his red, sweating face after 9 hours of trying to bring down Hillary while she came out smiling and cool.

But there is a thread of decency in both men. I do not think that Of Whitaker. I see him as a man who would sell his Mother to get ahead. His past clearly shows that. I may be wrong but doubt it.

to do so, they have to make the bullshit they pulled over the last 6 years of the Obama administration seem like they'd do it to anyone. they want to play themselves up as impartial and non-partisan actors, and they would sacrifice the Trumps in a second if it got them the positioning they wanted.

Trump picks his allies poorly and makes enemies easily, 2 traits that make his political career particularly ill-advised.
