Pelosi’s Democratic Critics Shrink as NY Congressman Who Signed Letter Now Says He’s Changed His Mind

One of 16 Democratic members of Congress (14 of whom are men) who signed a letter declaring opposition to voting for Leader Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House has just changed his mind.

Rep. Brian Higgins, The Washington Post reports, "said he had changed his mind after securing an 'agreement in principle' that Democrats would undertake a 'serious good faith effort' to advance legislation lowering the Medicare eligibility age to 50 as well as a trillion-dollar infrastructure blitz."

Others who also declared opposition to Pelosi becoming Speaker have changed their minds. The only member of Congress who announced she was considering running against the Democratic Leader, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, on Tuesday turned around and endorsed Pelosi for Speaker.
