Mattis condemns Venezuela's Maduro as a 'despot' who has to go

Source: Reuters

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis on Saturday condemned Venezuela's socialist President Nicolas Maduro as a despot leading his oil-rich nation to ruin, adding "ultimately this regime is going to have to go" for the situation to improve.

However, Mattis did not suggest any U.S. role in such a process and told a security forum in California: "It's up to the Venezuelan people, it's up to the regional states in that area to help expedite that and bring that country back to a more prosperous and positive future."

More than 3 million Venezuelans have fled the ailing oil-rich nation in recent years, driven out by brutal food and medicine shortages, hyperinflation, and violent crime.

Washington has imposed sanctions on Venezuela, denouncing Maduro for quashing human rights and triggering an economic meltdown.

Maduro indeed is a despot who continues to wreck the Venezuelan economy.

He's not the only one in this hemisphere that needs to go, though.

If Mad Dog Mattis wants to get rid of the socialist government in Venezuela, all the while funding opposition leaders in Venezuela and supporting Traitor Trump, then we know we should be on the side of the socialist government in Venezuelan NOT AGAINST it.

You can bet your bippy, Trump and Mattis are loading up the opposition with all sorts of weapons and arms.

But Mattis...nooo..

Why don't we send food, clothes, and building materials to these nations instead of making weapons to fight them. If we use the money and other resources we used for wars and other conflicts across the world we could make these troubled and troublesome nations more productive and safer for their own people.

The US Embassy informed that the country is prepared to provide humanitarian aid to Venezuela when the Venezuelan government allows it.

"The United States is ready to offer emergency assistance in food and medicine to the people of Venezuela if only the Maduro government accepts it," the Embassy said on its Twitter.

The US entity explained that despite having carried out sanctions against members of the government of Nicolás Maduro, they allow them to send food and medicine to the country.

This week, some Venezuelan citizens received medical attention in Riohacha, Colombia, on the Comfort hospital ship that was sent by the US government.

The Koch Brothers are in deep with the opposition too.

The Greedy capitalist don't want to have a successful socialist government in South America. That's what Pinochet's coupe and subsequent mass murders were all about.

Lets see, Venz.s problems are mainly:

Hyper-inflation: The US does not make them print too much money, that's on them.

Oil fields dropping production: The US has nothing to do with Venezuelan oil field maintenance.

Lack of food in stores: the US does not make them put the stupid price controls on food during massive inflation, no one can sell under cost for long, big surprise there is nothing on the shelves.

Lack of dollars to buy imports: the US has zero to do with Venzelas stupid currency controls that do.

Lack of diversification of economy: all on Hugo and Maduro....did they really think oil would always be over $80 a barrel?

Power outages throughout the country: The US is not in charge of electrical production or maintenance in Venz.

Lack of foreign investment and oil field expertise: Wasn't the US that started seizing foreign assets in Venz. and driving off the money and help.

One of the highest murder rates on the planet.....not the US there either...

The propaganda against Venezuela is sooooo deep, it even leaks into the most liberal of sources. It is very difficult to get any information on Venezuela that hasn't been tainted by Koch money, US oligarchs and former Venezuela uber rich thieves.

Don't believe a 10th of what you hear about Venezuela and even question that 10th. The uber rich are very very angry that the people took back their country.

Just look at who on the right you have to side with if you believe all that you wrote. You are siding with criminals, despots, the Koch brothers and most of the US oligarchs. If they are so absolutely furious about what is happening in Venezuela, you have to ask yourself why.

Why is the Trump administration trying so hard to tell us how bad Venezuela is?

Are you really arguing that the Venezuelan government hasn't totally wrecked their economy? lol

Are you saying they don't have hyper-inflation?

Did the US make them over print their currency? Tricky, how did we do that?!

How did the US make their oil production go from 3.5 million BPD in 1999 when they took power to the current 1.5 mbpd?

What did the US do to make them have one of the highest homicide rates on the planet?

even when the problems are systemic and deeply rooted. Corruption in Italy and Russia always comes to mind in this situation.

Would be like blaming the Republican's "drown it in a bath tub" philosophy on Trump, or the UK's suffering from austerity for decades on Theresa May.

Makes me think that all nations on earth need a huge red "RESET" or "REBOOT" button that could be activated when things get hopelessly out of control, perhaps activated by a room full of juvenile monkeys on Easter Island.
