Orrin Hatch Reacts to Trump's Suspected Campaign Finance Crimes: 'I Don't Care'

Source: Mediaite

by Ken Meyer | Dec 10th, 2018, 5:19 pm

Outgoing Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) told reporters he doesn’t really care about President Trump‘s possible new legal troubles.

There’s been a new round questions about Trump’s legal exposure in the last few days, thanks to Robert Mueller‘s memos and the the Federal investigators who implicated the president in connection with Michael Cohen‘s campaign finance lawbreaking. But Hatch, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, reportedly told CNN’s Manu Raju that he doesn’t care about Trump’s alleged crimes — and doesn’t think the president was actually involved in Cohen’s hush money payments on his behalf.

Hatch went on to suggest Trump’s alleged wrongdoing from before he became president holds no bearing on the present.

The counterargument among critics is that Trump supposedly ordered his personal lawyer to break the law in order to help secure his victory in the 2016 election.

The Republican Party's dominance of hate radio has successfully demonized the Democrats as unpatriotic, immoral un-Americans. This has been reinforced for the pulpit by their religious leaders into a solidified block that is beyond any hope of reasonable dialogue. When a party has become so obsessed with destruction of anyone who challenges them that they willing cooperate with an eternal enemy that has stated that it is determined to destroy our nation it has passed been serious. The situation is dire. When party elects president to lead the nation who is conspires with the enemy the situation as progressed to the point that the most drastic means are justified to destroy them. I am convinced that the very future of the nation and our cherished freedoms are in jeopardy. We can not allow our representative to continue to provide the enemy within to pursue their destructive course virtually unopposed. It is time to demand forceful responses. Their wishy-washy responses of our leadership are totally unacceptable. It is a time for determined opposition from every Democrat to demonstrate what real Americans stand for.

he goes ahead and puts some sour icing on this cake of "fuck you America" by saying he could care a less whether trump committed crimes or not.

But yes, let's keep going by the book here in our treatment and regard for republicans.

"Hatch, who is now President pro tempore of the Senate, said in 1999 that Clinton's crimes "go to the heart of qualification for public office."

"This great nation can tolerate a President who makes mistakes. But it cannot tolerate one who makes a mistake and then breaks the law to cover it up," Hatch, who was then a Utah senator, said at the time.

"Upholding our Constitution — a sacred document that Americans have fought and died for — is more important than any one person, including the President of the United States."

Hatch last year endorsed Trump for President, calling him "a very bright guy." "
