Pence: Trump has 'impression' that previous presidents wanted to build wall
Source: The Hill
Vice President Pence on Tuesday said President Trump has been given the "impression" that previous presidents wanted to build a U.S.-Mexico border wall, following claims from Trump that former presidents had told him that they wanted to build a wall.
Spokespeople for multiple former presidents, including former President Carter, Clinton and George W. Bush, in recent days have publicly denied that they had discussed the prospect of a border wall with Trump.
Pence did not say that the former presidents made the comments directly, but said that Trump has said that he had gotten the "impression" from former presidents that they wanted the barrier built and said that he has seen video clips of previous presidents "talking about" border security's importance.
"I know the president has said that that was his impression from previous administrations, previous presidents," Pence said during an interview on NBC's "Today Show" that aired on Tuesday.

(8,716 posts)If I hear Pence and Hannity say one more time, " Trump's deep desire to protect the American People" I will need to beat the hell out of the nearest power pole with a baseball bat. 40,000 deaths a year from guns, poison air, poison water, unregulated food, no health care to fight cancers his peeps cause, on and fuckining on. One person please ask how much he is willing to spend to protect the American people for middle age white men with guns or any of the above mentioned national emergencies.

(52,196 posts)and don't tell me the media is reluctant to actually call anyone a liar, they had no problem relentlessly insisting that al gore lied to take credit for personally building the internet even though he was only boasting for his completely legitimate role supporting it from congress and as vice-president.
it's only with republicans that they have a problem calling them liars.
yeah, in general, they're ever so slowly getting better about calling out donnie on his lies, eventually. but usually it's well after the lie has had the chance to run around the world several times.

(397 posts)Who the Republicans allow to meet with Kim Jong and Putin, with no advisors or staff present.
A president who having met with with these ex presidents was 100% wrong about what they had said, 100% of the time.
Whether he lies, or totally lacks the ability to comprehend, he is unfit for office.
