Robert Goforth (WBON-TV/screen grab)
A Kentucky Republican candidate for governor said this week that he is sponsoring a bill to effectively ban abortion because women need to be more responsible with their actions.
Republican state Rep. Robert Goforth, who announced Tuesday that he is running for governor, filed House Bill 100, which is similar to a Senate bill that attempts to outlaw abortion as soon as a fetal heartbeat can be detected.
Its essentially a ban, Brigitte Amiri of the American Civil Liberties Union told the Courier-Journal. Without a lawsuit to block it, abortion would be effectively banned in the state.
. . .
I think its making people be more responsible, he said. If theyre going to engage in activity thats going to end up in conception, they just need to be more responsible with their actions.

KY pharmacist hoping to stop drugs by educating young students

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - About twenty students filed into the gymnasium of Hacker Elementary School in Manchester on a Thursday morning. The school is one of forty groups Pharmacist Robert Goforth has spoken to this school year.
"Have you guys ever been to a pharmacy? Do you know what a pharmacist does?" Goforth asked the students. The lesson to the students is fittingly elementary. "Even if you are seven, eight or ten or fifteen years-old, you only take medicine from a trusted adult, right?"
The 30-minute assembly is a baseline about prescription medications. Goforth shows pictures of candy next to pills and asks the class which one is medicine. "They look a lot alike, right?" he quizzes.
Goforth spoke to WKYT's Miranda Combs after the presentation, "They thought I was crazy," he said. "Whenever I called the schools and said 'I wanna talk to your kindergarten class. I want to talk to your first and second and third graders."

(29,225 posts)This is so infuriating. For as long as I can remember, the responsibility for pregnancies has fallen on the women, not the men. To hear fools like this talk, you'd think that men didn't really want to engage in sex at all. Must have been some woman's fault.
Maybe all anti-choice males should submit to vasectomies. That should cut down on abortions.
Edit to add, that in this guy's case, perhaps castration would be more appropriate!
Just dont fuck a rethug.

(47,399 posts)republicans should change their tune! Sadly, not all are forthcoming with their political affiliations or philosophy, especially if they are trying to score. Many men are inclined to do or say anything for sex.
