................................
Radha Muthiah, the food bank’s president and CEO, told NPR that the workers are “just worried about where to get their food.”

"We've had someone say 'I'll pay you back after I get my paycheck, but I just need [food] now.’”

"It's hard for a lot of people," Muthiah added. "It's a matter of pride, being able to have taken care of themselves and their families and now having to depend on others."

The Capital Area Food Bank primarily helps people near or below the poverty line, but has expanded its services in response to the shutdown and said it would do so until the government reopens, NPR reported. About 250,000 federal employees live in the region, according to NPR.

About 20 Glacier National Park employees are volunteering today at the local food bank. Glacier is an incredible place but it’s the people that make it truly special. These folks have no idea when their next paycheck is coming but they’re still serving their community.

The more republicans will be voted out of office in 2020, and the Senate and the Presidency will be retaken over by the Democrats. People are running as fast as they can away from trump and the gop for doing this showing they learned nothing from the last Mid terms. trumps destroying the republican party, and it will be decades before anyone trusts them again.

Will be 24/7 broadcasting them and their struggles from trump and the gop doing this to them, around the clock. trump will have to open it back up , or it'll get even more damming to him and the gop going closer to the 2020 elections.

In this Trumpian Age, it's hard to remember that the good people outnumber the bad people. This reinforces it for me. May they all get back to getting paid soon !

I wonder how many of the affected fed employees used to think food banks, snap and welfare were for those who didn't need them? And I wonder if any have changed their views about those who aren't as fortunate to have reasonable jobs.

Maybe this will allow us in the future to get more help to those who don't have living wages.

Amazing how being down can change your outlook on life.

Wasn't it Grover somebody who said he wanted to get gov't down to the size of a bathtub and then drown it??????
This is most certainly a step to doing just that, esp if ATC & TCA don't just walk out and bring the country (Repubs) to their knees.
