Obama campaign hauls in $114 million in August

Source: AP via Businessweek

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and Democrats raised more than $114 million for his campaign in August, a campaign official says.

The total far exceeds Obama's earlier monthly fundraising totals. He trailed Mitt Romney and Republicans in fundraising in July for the third straight month.

My first political donation in twenty years and first for a non-Republican.

The thought of Romney as president was just too much.

Your support is much appreciated!

Any particular issue against Romney or just all of his stances in general?

I lived in a Mormon-centric area for several years and learned the hard way that their motto..

"Do the Right Thing"

is actually

"Do the Right Thing... for other Mormons".

And fankly, I'm shocked and dismayed that almost 50% of the public would vote for one of the Wall Street clowns that caused all this mess to being with. I really can't grasp it.

I think he and Ryan are absolutely insane with regards to their professed policies.

We'll still be outspent by the Superpacs, but at a certain point laws of diminishing return kick in and any more spent is just oversaturation.

Remember when the pundits and all our adorable concern trolls were all worried about Obama "spending too much money too early." Turns out, Plouffe and Axelrod and Obama are smarter than all those people yet again. Needless to say, that's no surprise. They knew that they'd get massive cash infusions as the elections drew near, and they knew they had to define Romney early. Look for more and more positive Obama ads. Lots of work to do, obviously, but this is starting to shape up as a campaign for future textbook instruction.

Oh, by the way, somebody needs to ask our "expert" pundits about that "enthusiasm" problem. Doesn't seem to be denting contributions, now does it?
