Gillibrand to kickstart 2020 White House bid before weekend Iowa trip: AP

Source: The Hill

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) is expected to announce this week that she is forming an exploratory committee for a 2020 presidential bid, the Associated Press reported Monday, citing sources familiar with Gillibrand's plans.

One person told the AP that Gillibrand will likely make the announcement before she visits Iowa this weekend.

The move would represent a formal step toward seeking the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. Gillibrand would join Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) as the second Democratic senator to announce forming an exploratory committee.

that disqualifies Klobuchar too, imo. Don't need anybody condemning anyone else's behavior prior to investigation.

Happy?

She won't get the nom. Anyone donating to her campaign is throwing money at the wind. Good news is it's early in the process.

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has finally joined the chorus of calls for Sen. Al Franken to step aside, after GOP critics blasted her for failing to reprimand her Democratic colleague.

"I think he should resign," Warren said in a brief statement, after the Herald asked whether she had a position on Franken, the Minnesota Democrat under siege for sexual harassment allegations.

A Warren aide said she had also told Franken privately that he should quit.

I do not like Kirsten Gillibrand, I don't care if she is democrat. I think she waylaid Al Franken for exactly this reason because she knew he was well liked and popular and would run for President, something she planned to do!! I would hate to see her become president and I feel saddened that Elizabeth Warren would comment on Al Franken's future. I have always respected Warren but now, I don't know!!

....Warren was not mounting a calculated campaign and did not spearhead the purge as did Gillibrand.

She was never The Face of it. Gillibrand was.

She went to Wall St.! She paid a visit to her Wall St. donor base before deciding to announce. That disqualifies her immediately in my view.

If she were to get the nomination I would vote for her. That's about the most positive thing I can say.
