Trump loses support from key constituency of white people without a college degree: poll

Source: The Hill

President Trump appears to be losing support of white Americans without college degrees, a consituency that has been previously reliable, according to new polling.

Forty-five percent of whites without college degrees approved of the job done by Trump in a new CNN poll released Monday, compared to 54 percent who had backed him in a poll conducted in December.

A Quinnipiac University National Poll also released Monday shows a similar trend.

In that survey, approval for Trump among non-college educated whites dropped from 56 to 53 percent, with Trump still getting a majority of support from the group. Disapproval rose from 37 to 43 percent.

Any drop off in support would be catastrophic for him in 2020. He can't bank on winning Michigan by 10,000 votes again, Wisconsin by 20,000, etc. It would be incredibly difficult to replicate those margins.

I just saw a story here that I hadn't known about - a select few counties that Obama won by large margins went for Tiny in 2016. At the least I'd say that's kind of fishy and deserves further scrutiny. In any case, with our current voting machines I'm very worried about any upcoming elections.

Hillary wasn't going to carry every single county Obama carried. Shifts happen. There were Obama voters that were upset that he didn't give them everything they wanted and voted Trump out of anger. If I was Trump, I'd be worried that a lot of 2016 Trump counties are going to go blue in 2020, as evidenced by midterms. Demographics aren't working in his favor.

They had just enough "thumb on the scale" to do this. It is a very sophisticated operation.

Michigan voted Dems for damn near every election up for grabs this past fall. Blue wave with progressive proposals and candidates.

Not one of them is a Trumper. Of courseI live in a Dem stronghold but I feel the polls don't really reflect his supprt. The real question is "would you vote for him again?" I also feel if they can be sold Trump they can be sold anything-so their loyalty is on par with most beer drinkers.

Good, we need more people to turn against him.

We old people have seen this before, Nixon hit us with Wage and Price Controls and his blue collar supporters bailed over night. Once the News Media reported that Nixon had carved out special deals for his supporters, that was the real end in sight for him.

we at 11 pm upon entering our workplace,I was handed a stack of stack of envelopes which were addressed to each person scheduled to work, and informed each person of the Bankruptcy which had occurred about five hours earlier. Now that is a kick in the teeth. As one whom kind of kept track of the Voter preferences of those whom I worked with. About 60% of this group were Reagan Voters, and when I passed out those envelopes, that reality check was a REALITY Check from Hell. Inside was a from letter from the Corporate Lawyers stating their payroll checks were to be the property of the Bankruptcy Court and you will need to file a claim as a Creditor and your claim would be disposed as to the Courts rulings and settlements of claims.

Everyone in our group received final settlements of 1% and that after ten years to that original date. Oh btw, everyone received a 1099 for that amount.

this will continue, Trump will not be electable. Why? Trump will never change for nobody. Not you, not me not his wife, his children or....his base..

For whatever reason, his solid base did not know what a total asshole he is. Now after 2 years in the sold news, with his awful meanness. That has shown through. He doesn't care but he thinks he can get away with it again...NO. Mr. Trump cannot get away with it again..

..His base learns very slow. But it learns. It will peal off to 20 percent of the total population. How? People talk to people even within the so called .."base.' His meanness in the long run will cut it by 50 percent. You are going to say NO, but that is happening now. No leader of the U.S.A in the past 50 years sent out as much hate and evil as Trump... Maybe Nixon,,he didn't send out HATE the way Trump does..

I really don't know any..Perhaps George Wallace, but who is to say? Maybe someone out there can name someone. Yes, his base is shrinking, but who knows what his next "stunt" will be?

Not me.. ............. All I know is that there will be another stunt. That is all he knows. And in the meantime,
......................his base will shrink to 20 percent of the population...
