Far-right Polish group leads anti-Semitic protest at Auschwitz during commemoration ceremony

Source: The Independent

Far-right Polish nationalists organised an anti-Semitic protest during a Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony at Auschwitz.

The small group of hardline activists held their demonstration inside the former concentration camp at the same time as the official Holocaust commemorations on Sunday.

The 50 protestors from the Polish Independence Movement were led by Piotr Rybak, who was once jailed for burning an effigy of a Jew.

Mr Rybak told reporters they were there to oppose the official – and historically accurate – narrative that millions of Jews were murdered by the Nazis with the active collaboration of some Poles.

"It's time to fight against Jewry and free Poland from them,” Mr Rybak said, a Polish newspaper reported.

Before the internet very small groups of people would not deny the holocaust happened. Now with the proliferation of conspiracy theory millions of people deny it happened. But there are still people alive who lived in them and soldiers who saw the dead bodies. I guess we have to do a clockwork orange thing to these deniers and force them to see the films and pictures.

by denying the holocaust even though the death camps are still standing. Often the same types of people who need confederate statues so they don't forget history. The RW mind is a strange and dangerous beast.

And whose leadership (including Lech Walesa) have every single bigoted stance a person can have, and is disgustingly and extremely anti LGBT and anti choice.

is the Polish psyche? The Polish nation and people have been victims of horrible, sometimes brutal hatred, yet they embrace some of the views of their oppressors. It must be some variation of the Stockholm Syndrome. https://www.secasa.com.au/pages/the-effects-of-childhood-sexual-abuse/the-stockholm-syndrome/

What shame they bring upon their nation.

...anti-Semitism. Plain and simple, they hate Jews. It has long been engrained in their history, but mainly, it was after they were conquered by the Russians. If one looks back in history, Poland actually used to be one of the safe havens for Jews, but that changed when the Russians conquered them.
