Julin Castro calls on Northam to resign over blackface, KKK photo

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Julián Castro called on Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) to resign after Northam acknowledged that he was in a photo that surfaced Friday featuring two men in blackface and KKK garb.

Castro, in a tweet, condemned Northam's behavior as "racist and unconscionable."

"It doesn't matter if he is a Republican or a Democrat," he wrote. "This behavior was racist and unconscionable. Governor Northam should resign."

This was clearly racist at the time. He’s admitted it was him. There was also the nickname “Coonman” in the yearbook for him. If he steps down we end up with an African American Dem in his place. He was a friggin’ Med Student... youthful indiscretion is a pretty lousy excuse. We can’t claim to be a party of diversity and inclusiveness but look the other way cause they’re our racists.
