TV Host Jim Cramer Says Father Will Not Be Allowed To Vote Because Of Pennsylvania Voter ID Law

Source: Think Progress

Jim Cramer, the host of CNBC’s finance program Mad Money, is seeing the effects of voter suppression laws firsthand.

This morning, Cramer tweeted about his father, a Pennsylvania resident who stands to lose his right to vote because of the state’s new restrictive voter ID law. Like thousands of Pennsylvania who could be disenfranchised in November, Cramer’s father lacks a voter ID because he’s a senior citizen and does not drive. Cramer also noted that he doesn’t have access to his citizenship documents.

the hell-of- it-is we cant do much about the voter ID because some right wing Judges will rule in the Repukes favor..This is like some Banana republic.
Your point about registering voters ..Oh how true..We cannot get over confident even if the reports show Obama ahead by 5,6,7 points. That is exactly what repukes want..for Democrats to relax and they steal it.

Nobody knows where my dad's rights have gone
'cause of a law Pennsylvania signed,
Why can't my daddy vote
This kind of law should be a crime!

It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to

You would cry too if it happened to you

are named to this honor. I heard that several "Hall of Famers" will not be permitted to vote because they are obviously elderly, and unable to comply because they can't access similar documents. This is an absurd embarrassment. Another example of Rethuglican ideas for American exceptionalism. We are pathetic if we let this happen!

how many other thousands of people who are being denied the right to vote can rectify their situation in a single day?

Cramer is a professional bullshit artist. I wouldn't be surprised if this "situation" is used by RWers to say that registering to vote without documentation is a simple procedure. But that's just me.

been disenfranchised, too. My father didnt have a birth certificate. He had his armed forces discharge papers, and was a veteran of WWII. He hadn't driven in years and his DL was expired.

It's a very sad state when any citizen is denied their constitutional rights, especially after nearly sacrificing everything in war.

These republicans should be ashamed of themselves.
