Senator Martha McSally: I was raped by Air Force superior officer

Source: BBC

A US senator welled up with emotion as she told colleagues she was raped by a superior officer while serving in the Air Force.

She also said that she had lacked faith in the system.

The Arizona Republican was testifying to a hearing on the armed services' efforts to prevent sexual assaults.

1. I support her and I am sorry this happened to her. However, she let Blasey-Ford twist in the wind

sad.

13. Not at that point; she was appointed three months later. Jon Kyl was in McCain's seat.

3. Republican women get raped?!

Hush up ladies, your party wants you to shut your mouths and pretend like it was consensual.

23. Also not sure of this. She's a thoroughly nasty person.

Right up there with Ann Coulter and Kirsten Nielsen.

She would say anything for personal gain.

9. She might want to put her party's feet to fire since that's the case.

Frankly, I wouldn't be part of a political party that would be adamantly supported by my assailants. The officer and SNCO portion of the military is chock full of right-wing assholes who wish women were not in the military.

19. Let me blow your mind

If they are HYPOCRITES, the answer to your question is YES.
In other words, don't ask for sympathy if you are willing to give none yourself.

24. Her presence as a GOP Senator means more will suffer her fate...

she's abetting rapists. Rep Scalise now has a colostomy bag because of the damage that bullets did to him - yet he works everyday to insure that more will suffer the same injuries.

I'll put a finer point on it for you - F these people.

She can trust her fellow republicans and their 'support' for Kavanaugh's accusers who did not report it quickly?

21. she felt ashamed and confused. She also said that she had lacked faith in the system.

That's why it continues. Make people believe it's their own damn fault and make the reporting and any accountability embarrassing and cumbersome. Society and the military in particular, has always sucked in this regard. Betsy DeVoss, I'm looking at you as well for your "educational reforms" making it harder for victims to get help.
