Protesters at Rep. Tim Walberg's office drop off giant $160,000 check to 'Millionaires'

JACKSON, MI -- Protesters at Rep. Tim Walberg's district office in Jackson Wednesday afternoon dropped off a mock check for $160,000 with Walberg's name in the signature line made out to "Millionaires."

About a dozen people protested outside the office at West Avenue and Ganson Street, carrying signs that said "I Am Working America." They oppose Walberg's support of legislation that would extend President George W. Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans.

Most Democrats in Washington, including President Barack Obama, want to extend the cuts only for taxpayers who make less than $250,000 per year.

People outside the office of Walberg, R-Tipton, were from the statewide union group Working America, an affiliate of the AFL-CIO.

Is that $250,000 amount suppose to be adjustable taxable income??

all deductions.

If you have that much after deductions that is taxable...you need some serious financial planning.

2. What's with this 250,000?

250,000 is rich, nobody I know makes this kind of money. Let's look at 150,000 which is probably still too high considering are falling wages. Some of these labels like "small business" are wrong, but we accept them without thinking.

Even in the 80s at the beginning of trickle down, we were okay. The lost generation of *co took alot. Today, I'm grateful for my SS or we would really be in trouble.

they get a tax reduction on the first 250,000. If they make 250,050, the raise is only on the $50.00 more they made.
