White House rejects Cummings' request to interview former official

(CNN)The White House is rejecting House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings' request to interview a former White House official who now represents the Trump Organization, the latest skirmish between the Trump administration and the House Democrats investigating President Donald Trump and his administration.

In a letter to Cummings, White House Counsel Pat Cipollone accused the committee of making "grossly unfair" allegations against Stefan Passantino and Trump's personal attorney Sheri Dillon and damaging their reputations.

Last month, Cummings sent a letter to Cipollone that stated the committee had obtained new documents showing Passantino and Dillon "may have provided false information" when they were questioned by federal ethics officials about hush money payments paid to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels.

Cummings requested an interview with both attorneys.

In response, Cipollone chided Cummings for directly requesting an interview with Passantino, instead of going through the White House counsel's office, and said the White House would not make Passantino available.............................

It is going to be rough for the Dem committee members--like trying to get information from an old dried up turnip!

how can the WH prevent that person from being interviewed? I guess it's time for a subpoena.

Leave the White House, and you never have to answer any questions.

Somehow, I don’t think it’s gonna fly.

Every time the Trump mob tries to obstruct justice like this, take it as a sign there's something to hide. There are too many scandals for them to be trying to stop all testimony on principle.

outraged, the main reason Ford did not get re-elected, as for Reagan he should have gone down the same path as Nixon, he was just as much as a criminal has Nixon, but again, the Congress was held by republicans.

The last two years in the current state of affairs is history repeating themselves with this jerk, (mild words) occupying the white house.
I do not believe that people of this country are going to idly stand by and let what is happening now repeat what happened in the past, this is just as dangerous or more so, there is now a foreign power involved that helped put this jerk into power. And if he survives until 2020, he will be held accountable after 2020 by the state of New York and their law enforcement, they have put sitting legislated people in jail for graft and bribery.

The only thing stopping the people of this country right now is one Moscow Mitch, and he is loading the court with Federalist Society hacks, and they (all of them should be in my opinion removed-albeit by impeachment or by annulment) from the judgeship's when we take back full control of Congress this November 3, 2020, when we vote, and clean up this crap, enough is enough.

My rant.....................
