Steve King contrasts New Orleans to Iowa on disaster response: 'Iowans take care of each other"

Source: The Hill

Republican Rep. Steve King contrasted Iowans as being willing to help one another compared to to victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

“Here’s what FEMA tells me: we go to a place like New Orleans and everybody’s looking around saying ‘who’s gonna help me?” King said at a town hall event in a video posted to his Facebook page.

He said that FEMA told him that an Iowan, however, would say “wait a minute let me get my boots it’s Joe that needs help. Let’s go down to his place and help him.”

They’re just always gratified when they come and see how Iowans take care of each other,” he added.

I have this feeling Steve King thinks there's a difference between people in Iowa and people in New Orleans, but I can't put my finger on what it might be.....

Straight out, he is saying New Orleans people are poor, helpless (and black) while Iowans are wealthy, resourceful (and white)?

Every chance they get, they take. Racist white trash! Needing a massive kick in the head for even thinking up that comparison, Stevey boy!

use bleach to get his laundry to be extra white and pure, starting with his klan robes

Maybe some Democrats can help Iowa get a new congressperson and let this racist go spend more time at the cross burnings or whatever he does for fun.

That's a cue for some Trumpisms, like 'Everybody knows', 'I heard that', 'It was on Fox', etc.

Would be nice is someone in FEMA spoke out and called BS on it though.

"Here’s what FEMA tells me"

Now FEMA is an organization, it has no mouth. A human being needs to speak on FEMA's behalf.

So that statement should really be . . . 'A FEMA spokesperson tells me'.

Now, this spokesperson has a name. So fess up, Steve, who was it?

I was at the Astrodome when they finally brought people there from NO. Sorry, I wanted to but can't even write about the experience. That evil little piece of scum has no idea of the agony of human suffering those people went through or of anything he is talking about.

Right up until the damage along the Mississippi River interfered with shipping their crops out. That was when it stopped being hilarious and somehow became a tragedy. That was their last straw for me.

In Iowa, the cops don't shoot at people stranded on bridges or walking through their devastated neighborhoods. As lil' bush said, "our first priority is to establish law and order" because, you know how those people in New Orleans are.

Many giant corporations who claim to be mom-and-pop farms are not.

A subsidy meant to keep small farmers from bankruptcy has morphed into a giant cash cow for agribusiness.
