Brexit: No majority for any options after MPs' votes

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Yonnie3 (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: BBC

How MPs voted
Confirmatory referendum - For: 268 Against: 295
Customs union - For: 264 Against: 272
Labour's Brexit plan - For: 237 Against: 307
Common Market 2.0 - For: 188 Against: 283
Revoking Article to avoid no deal - For: 184 Against: 293
No-deal exit on 12 April - For: 160 Against: 400
Malthouse Plan B - For: 139 Against: 422
EFTA and EEA membership - For: 65 Against: 377
The proposal which came closest to commanding majority support was a cross-party plan - tabled by former Conservative chancellor Ken Clarke - for the whole of the UK to join a new customs union with the EU to ensure tariff-free trade after the UK's exit.

Its supporters included five Conservative ministers: Mark Field, Stephen Hammond, Margot James, Anne Milton and Rory Stewart.

All Conservative MPs - excluding cabinet ministers - were given a free vote, meaning they were not ordered to vote in a certain way.

Eight Conservatives voted for a referendum to endorse the deal, the proposal which secured the most affirmative votes. Labour controversially whipped its MPs to back the proposal but 10 shadow ministers abstained and Melanie Onn quit her job to vote against.

It will be remarkable to watch and come 6 months from now, it will also be remarkable to listen to these morons with their regret stories.

The English should just sit down and let the Irish, Scots, and Welsh Scots run things in the UK...

around the globe. They sow divisiveness and confusion among the populace, leaving many of us with heads spinning and our politicians acting irrationally.

I place most of the credit for this destruction of all unity in politics on both sides of the pond primarily on the shoulders of a secretive group of plutocrats that in reality hold no allegiance to any nation. These billionaires from America, Britain, Russia and others across the globe have come to believe they are entitled to control the lives of all working people, and the best way to accomplish that is by creating chaos.

Those people have literally bought right-wing parties like American's Republican Party and Britain's Tory Party and have loads of willing minions like Trump and Boris Johnson.

No better example can be found than when one examines these actors and their funding for the original Leave Referendum. I'm convinced that vote would have failed by quite a wide margin if not for the massive deception thrown at the UK public prior to the vote.

Ditto for our last presidential election........... ..... .....

They're indicative, intended to test the water for another round of votes on Monday.

Also, this OP is a dupe of this earlier one which had quite a bit of discussion about it: https://www.democraticunderground.com/10142293752
