Pelosi: 'I don't trust Barr; I trust Mueller'

Source: Associated Press

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Wednesday she doesn’t trust Attorney General William Barr and suggested his statement that he believes President Donald Trump’s campaign was spied on undermines Barr’s independence as the nation’s top law enforcement officer.

The California Democrat said in an interview with The Associated Press she was “very concerned” about Barr’s handling of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russia investigation report and accused Barr doing Trump’s political bidding.

“He is not the attorney general of Donald Trump. He is the attorney general of the United States,” Pelosi told AP. “I don’t trust Barr, I trust Mueller.”

He likely can't talk about it with the threat of jail. His job was to produce the report and hand it in, which he did.

I don't entirely trust him, either. (it's a very low Barr... )

I think the House needs to hear from Mueller's top lieutenants as well - Weissman, etc. - about the summaries that were supposed to be made public with no redaction.

Things could get worse very quickly depending on Trump's demands. Trump will demand and possibly get, partisan investigations into his perceived enemies.

What will career employees do? That is the question.

leak that fucking report, or at least he could have given his summary to Congress. Or he could meet privately with committee members and go over it, or plenty of other things. He obviously can't be bothered with seeing justice done, he's loyal to party first.

His report will be favorable to Trump and say that there was no probable cause to investigate Trump -- but rather this was Watergate using FISA and the FBI, instead of bumbling burglars.

Barr said as much, if you listen.

This entire delay thing is a ploy to make key Democratic reps be on record that they trust Herr Mueller, thus making them eat it.

It's an entire Lucy-and-the-football set up.

And Nancy and the media have fallen for it.

Sadly I must admit to a growing frustration with this "investigation". I've given Mr. Mueller the benefit of the doubt pretty much since day one. His service record is impressive to me as a fellow veteran and I will not try to take that away from him. However his continued silence is really starting to worry me. Always in the back of my mind there's that little nagging voice "he's been a republican all his life".

Also, while not specifically about Mr. Mueller I've wondered why …… no leaks? None. Not a sentence? Really? For something as grave as this report and investigation is and there's not a single word that's found its way to the public? We have had leaks pertaining to everything from chump's daily schedule to what his illegal alien wife has had for lunch. But absolutely NOTHING about what is surely one of the most important documents to come down the pike in my lifetime?!? Nobody on his staff to step up and say "HERE, here's what we found and what Barr doesn't want you to see". And yes, I've seen the Pentagon papers release and Watergate. Where's our modern day Daniel Ellsberg, our Mark Felt? Are there NO patriots left in Washington?

barr, mueller, trump, comey - you get the idea. Nancy apparently doesn't get the idea.

You can never trust a godam repubican and I don't care who they are or what their history is - they've all gone over to the dark trump side and there is no coming back. They're the borg. Resistance is futile.

Our only hope is total super majority win in 2020 and then we have to rely on party leaders who failed to hold bush accountable for war crimes to hold trump accountable for his myriad crimes.

I have very little faith that this will happen. Especially after hearing crap like this from our Speaker.

YOU CAN NEVER TRUST A GODAM REPUBICAN, NANCY!

I really thought you'd have learned that by now.
