A white Detroit woman being sued by a black man in a high-profile case for repeatedly fabricating charges against him to police has hired an attorney who previously represented white supremacist leaders like Richard Spencer.

The case, whose victim said he was merely guilty of “gardening while black”, generated headlines around the country as another example of black Americans encountering racism, and the attention of law enforcement, for simply carrying out everyday activities.

Deborah Nash is now being represented by Kyle Bristow, a self-proclaimed alt-right attorney who in 2018 brought legal challenges against universities that denied Spencer permission to speak on campus.

Nash is a defendant in the lawsuit because she and two other white women accused Marc Peeples, a black urban farmer, of brandishing a gun, participating in a drive-by shooting targeting one of their homes, and being a convicted pedophile. The final accusation led to Peeple’s arrest, though none of the accusations were true.

A black man in Detroit was hauled into court and falsely accused of stalking by three white women who didn’t like his urban gardening in their neighborhood.

Marc Peeples, 32, last week was ordered freed by a Michigan judge who said that stalking charges filed against him were ‘disgusting’ and ‘a waste of the court’s time and resources.’

‘[The three white women] should be sitting at the defendant’s table for stalking and harassment charges, not Mr. Peeples,’ District Court Judge E. Lynise Bryant said.

Police were called multiple times by the women who complained about Peeples, who is black, according to the Detroit Metro Times.

. . .

The women, who have been identified as Deborah Nash, Jennifer Morris, and Martha Callahan, apparently objected to Peeples’ garden that he planted in a vacant playground.

3. I hope Peeples gets the $300,000 he is asking for

He deserves every penny of it and it might teach these hateful people that what he's doing is very much needed by the earth and by the kids.

I have a hard time imagining the kind of hatred it takes to do something like this. What is wrong with these people? They should be out there gardening--it's funny how working with nature is a cure for hate.
