8. I see it too and it's horrible.

What he said normalizes rape and also he's suggesting that the victim brought it on herself. He should be fired immediately.

4. Always my thought

When anyone says anything remotely similar. What if it was your Daughter, your Sister, you Mother that was raped. Would your view change? If so, then WHY IN THE HELL DID YOU VOTE FOR THAT scum in the White House?

6. Basically he means "boys will be boys" as an excuse to cover what was

a horrible crime. Sorry, asshole, but that line doesn't work anymore. Fire his fat ass!

10. Hey dumba$$: Criminal behavior is criminal behavior!

You'd think a "security officer" would know that.

13. This is exactly why

I never had my folks talk off the cuff to the media. Prepared statements are the only way to go.

It is far too easy for your brain and heart to mean one thing and your mouth conspire to make you look stupid, insensitive and cruel.

14. As someone who's best friend is in charge of school security

This is an outrageous statement. Any security person worth their salt would be angry this happened on their watch.

15. That's the school district I grew up in

Over the last about 20 years and especially lately school safety has been an ongoing topic in Madison, including the recent school board elections. I don't know this Balles guy. I think his intention was to convey to any parents that this incident is an exception and not the rule, Madison schools are safe to enroll their children. Obviously, he put his foot in his mouth.
